Armstrong for me is worth 2.5mil all day long. Creative, good engine, decent strength, young and an eye for goal. Definite value for money

He's very easily worth £2.5m for me. Ledley, would have been worth - what? - £6m or so if we hadn't let his contract run down. if we were taking a calculated risk I'd be hesitant but we know exactly what we're getting.

Peter Lawwell is the Celtic chief executive, who rakes in about £1 million a year...

Having said that, as I don't rate Armstrong, I would be disappointed if Lawwell spent the money being reported on him!

What's promising is that the offer wasn't insulting. I've a feeling we'll thrash something out with United.

I really like him. I think Deila was spot on with the comparison to Thomas Müller.

I don't mind if we low ball them a bit to begin with, as long as Burnley doesn't come in and offer what they want for him.

I reckon round about 2mil would get him, we can spend the money and he is worth it, so hopefully we get it done.

He's worth £2.5m. Arguably the best midfield player in the league.

    Who's gonna bite then?

    Does PL have a boss....????
His boss must be happy with the way he is following orders or he would not pay him a wage.

If we are going to be * at someone lets atleast target the right person.

I don't get why people are surprised this is the every club does business utd say they want 2.5 we offer 1.5 try to find the middle ground. It would be crazy to have the selling club name their price.

If we could pay 2.3 million for Scepovic (and I think he's a good player) I don't think 2.5 for Armstrong is unreasonable at all. Especially for the January window, he'd be a big loss for DU.

Dundee Utd have always been pretty tight with what they want. They value at that and it's rare a player goes for much less than the valuation.
We tend to always go low as possible as do most clubs, just feel with Utd there's no point as they always say no.

Lets be realistic here though , if an proper offer comes in from down south then he will go there. The upper hand we have is that his agent is one of us and its ony the fee to be agreed.

Can they really get much more than £2m for a guy who's contract only runs to summer 2016?

Could see the point if he had a contract that tie'd him up until 2017/18.
