Maybe they will want to wait and see what happens after next week's cup game.

You can understand United not wanting to lose such a valuable player right before the semi final of a cup game. It's a tricky time to do a deal for any team's best player and obviously we want him in for the second half of the season.

It's risky. We need someone in and waiting until the last minute can be good or bad. We'll just have to wait and see.

We've managed to streamline the squad quite a bit and made £10million profit during the last window. With money from Van Dijk's sale sure to be high, then i'm sure we'll build a good side whether Armstrong comes in or not.

I'd be gutted if we sign fletcher and pay high wages and didn't go for Armstrong who has all the potential to be as good as fletcher who I think is over rated and was basically babysat by gear Man u players.

Where is Armstrongs place in the team? GMS has chances of starting often because only Stokes and Forrest playing good on the sides. Armstrong would compete whith either Johansen/Commons/Henderson or Brown/Bitton/Henderson/Bitton.

Aye he would he's a central player, competition is a good thing, we lack depth at CM.

Not really. We have 4 very good CMs in Brown, Johansen, Biton and Henderson. If Armstrong is a wide player I would pay the £3 mil.

If he's playing regulary then Bitton will be the one to drop out, with Brown taking up the main DM position. Alternatively he'll be a squad player who will rotate with Johansen & Bitton. Was really up for signing him but I'm not so sure anymore, I think it will restrict Henderson & think we're prob in more need of quality in other areas. Missed the boat on the guy obviously but if we need a midfielder it would prob need to be someone like Gauld. A tricky wee player that can open up these packed defences, whereas Armstrong is another strong runner but doesn't quite have that deft touch we really need.

Armstrong can play in any of the five midfield positions. It's not going to be hard to fit him in.

I see him sitting next to Brown or playing in Johansen's position.

Bitton beginning to win me round but far from finished article.

Good option and can score as well.

Do people not watch Dundee united play??? Armstong plays as part of an attacking four with cifti, dow/erskine or GMS. He does not play as a cdm so I don't think he will be playing along side brown instead of bitton/mulgrew.

If we sign him he will be part of our attack foursome too. I would be very if we sign him, a very good young Scottish talent

  14. Who in Scotland dosen't know anyone called Kev!!! Stewie Bhoys full o *!! Signing at 11:59 transfer deadline day!

I think the position he will take up is commons position and that's why we haven't signed commons to a new deal, I think commons will eventually fold and take an 18 month deal but if Armstrong comes in on deadline day he may find a regular seat on the bench.

Imagine how much better off we'd be if we spent Scepovic's fee on Armstrong rather than Teemu Pukki in disguise?

At least Pukki actually scored a few goals.
