Came through the exact same system Armstrong has except he's far more technically gifted.

Went to WBA too young IMO and has come back up the road trying to resurrect his career. Playing superb under Stubbs.

He ripped the absolute pish out the huns but that's not why I like him or would want us to sign him. He is a quality player that has had other issues in the past he looks like he has grown out of.

He's also 3 months older than Armstrong.

Lambert was a 'hun *' he did OK for Celtic.

A wee bit at the bottom of a BBC article says

"Meanwhile, United say that, despite media reports, they have had no approach from Celtic for midfielder Stuart Armstrong.

Celtic this month signed winger Gary Mackay Steven on a pre-contract agreement, leading to reports that they had also made an approach for Armstrong.

"That is news to us," said a United spokesman. "There is no bid for Stuart Armstrong or anyone else, from Celtic or from anyone else.

"We have received no bids formal or informal from anyone." "

Scott Allan was always a talent, went to England too young like many and never adjusted or made the breakthrough. Has came back grown up and looks quality..

    I rate him..

Incredibly overrated in my opinion. I've always been pretty underwhelmed whenever I've seen him play. I wouldn't be too happy with Celtic spending money on him, let alone £2.5 million!

SSN believe we've made an official approach for Armstrong and still trying to agree a fee for GMS

Genuinely was expecting this to be official by the time I had finished work. Obviously not.

    £2.5m is a fair price.

Most folk who are against paying that are probably being swayed by the fact he is playing in Scotland, even if they won't admit it.

It's not as big a gamble as paying the same price for a foreigner. Fact is, if he gets regular game time it's almost certain he will do a job for us in Scotland and thats what you want first and foremost.

If he can make the step up to Europe then even better. He has the attributes to do a job at that level for me.

Whilst that team looks strong I reckon it would be unfair to drop Bitton, he's been playing well lately.
