I think he will play the midfield 3. So take Bitton,Brown and Kayal out of people competing with him for a spot. Then I think you will have a rotating midfield 3 of Commons(if he stays), Jonhansen, Forrest(When fit), Armstrong, Mackay Steven(If he comes in early), Henderson, McGregor and Stokes. So in reality there could be only 5 players competing for 3 places. I didnt include Tonev and Wakaso because I honestly dont think we will be seeing much more of them.

Johansen IS Deila's player, no chance.

If he signed he wouldn't play beside brown, He'd be one of the front 3 this is where he usually plays for united who play the same formation. He only ever drops into the midfield two because of suspension or injuries.

It would be interesting to see how we lined up if he was to sign, probably in that number 10 role but I still don't see him as a proper playmaker.

Think he would be excellent in a 3-man midfield but we will never see that.

I think you nailed it there ........... forward mid 3 rather than DM 2
Charley will try compete with Bitton for the DM spot alongside Brown, who will ALWAYS be automatic as long as fit/not suspended. And Bitton will win that battle for the other spot no problem. Kayal will be heading out, if not this window, certainly the next. You will then have the option to use Johansen or Armstrong if required for rotation in the DM slot (injury, suspension, rest)
Colour Charley as another one headed to Bolton in the Summer when he can't get a game.

For those who don't seem to get the appreciation of what Bitton brings, he is the link-pin in the middle of the field who always seems to be there to spread the play around, switching sides or penetrating passes forward. The team is just way more fluid with him in there and I personally believe the other players are starting to also appreciate that, bringing him much more into the game.

Think signing Armstrong could be a far better bit of business than Brown was.

Think he is a better goal threat, is a better passer of the ball, has better awareness and has got just about as much energy as Brown.

    Get him signed Ronny

With all these midfielders maybe Ronny will play 3-5-2 well here's hoping he does

I think 2.5 million quid is too much personally.

It's a weird one that, in the context of us, yes it is probay too much. In context of modern football? It's * all.

Dont know how reliable this is but someone on twitter is saying it's a done deal, 2.5 million and a 3 year contract. If this is true it would seem Kris is off!

For a team with the income of Celtic it's * all. We can't compete with £25million Premier League transfers, but we sure as * have to keep up for signings in this price range. If we start consider £2.5million too much we're never going to get better.

It's affordable but it's in our top range these days.
