The money is tied up in a possible deal for Guidetti. We're unlikely to be spending £6million on transfers.

I think Guidetti is holding on for what he sees as a "bigger" club to come in for him. Armstrong is the player I would have preferred but I don't see Utd letting us get 2 of their players in this window.

Anyone disappointed we not spent money on Stuart but waste 2 million on pukki, 2 million on balde etc.
If board let Stuart go they should be sacked. All top Scottish talent would jump at chance to join us if board would just pay the fee. Spending huge money on players from different countries who can't settle or takes a year to get used to Scottish football

Always felt that we should have adopted the bayern Munich way. They mostly buy all the best players in there league and that weakens the opposition plus it gives them a strong squad. Plenty of players have left Scotland and done extremely well. We don't want to miss out on Armstrong either. Young, talented and only going to get better. And at £2m? Bargain in my opinion

Astounding that a club who have over 40,000 season ticket holders, played back to back years in the Champions League, made £10million profit in player sales 6 months ago, and have a Nike sponsorship deal, consider spending £2milllion to be very expensive.

Add to that we won't spend £250,000 because we'd rather wait 6 months to get the guy for free, it's ridiculous.

    Rather him than Fletcher.

    Scotlands future over Scotlands past

I think he is being signed to fit into the midfield 2, were as fletcher would be fitting into the midfield 2. Would be very happy if this deal happened.

Same. I take it you mean 3? The beauty is that the lad can occupy any of the 5 midfield positions. He will be rightfully in the bank of 3 for the most part id say.

I don't think the system requires a defensive midfielder, but rather in a team who can attack. It's a brave outlook, one that might take until next season to see it really kick into gear. But Armstrong is the sort of guy who can kick start that a bit quicker.

Bitton's on cracking form as well being the sort of calming influence in their. Mulgrew and Brown are pretty defensive as well.
