The reason I mentioned courtroom dramas is that we will have all seen them, it is an easy way to demonstrate my point. I assumed that not many of us has any real experience of a trial situation.

Rather than picking out one or two words you could debate the point properly...

A nonesense quote from the police. Fact is somone let the truth slip out about their attitude and behaviour toward the green brigade and this article is just an attempt to claim otherwise.

I got you mate. Some statements just can't be disregarded, wether you retract them or not.

Like when I talking about my boss being a moany * and his wife was behind me. I tried to play it off as just work banter, the boss is always a moany * in every job. Didn't work. She * hates me. Evil stares.

i agree with you. the policing before, during and after the hibs game (as well as others) was disgraceful. i believe the green brigade, celtic supporters association and other supporters groups complained about it to both celtic and the police.

I think the GB are targeted, that much is clear. Whether it's because the police genuinely want to smash them, or whether it's due to them just being the most hardcore and obvious fans to target, I don't (and no-one ouside the corridors of power) know.

Good to read the police at least releasing statements like this though, and the club condemning and correcting "journalists'" statements, last year too much was swept under the carpet and Lenny and us fans were pretty much the only ones talking about stuff, thus lending credence to the "paranoid" claims.

Whether the GB are bad supporters and need the police to watch them, or whether continued and OTT police presence is infact the cause of "sectarian" chanting and other illegal actions, is basically impossible to say.

Their disgraceful actions speak so much louder than anything they have to say for themselves.

What a depressing little country this is.
At a time when newly released figures state that Catholics are four and a half times more likely to be a victim of a sectarian crime than any other religious group while making up only 16% of the population really is shocking. What's Strathclyde Police's response to these totally disgraceful and unjust attacks on a minority community in Scotland?Yep,arrest some young guys for singing Irish rebel songs and then try and pin all of Scotland's sectarian woes on a small group of Celtic fans.
    You couldn't make it up

"pigs" ?? Suppose an apology is out of the question?. Or should my three Celtic supporting -since -they- were- bairns, mates just meekly accept this type of crap from fellow tims who are`nt fit to to share a seat at Parkhead with them . Pillock.

I would say it is your friends who aren't fit to share a seat with fellow tims who they are harassing on weekly basis.

Maybe direct your anger at them instead of supporters who are * sick of being singled out for creating an atmosphere at the fitba'.

Since none of them work for Strathclyde and all of them have been in life endangering situations whilst protecting and aiding members of the public, i believe they are entitled to respect and consideration. As active Celtic fans with nearly one hundred years of season tickets between them they are surely entitled to at least that from Celtic fans.

Well when I was growing up they never done much "aiding the public" so you'll forgive me for not sharing your sentiment.

    edit.

and if you want to carry on discussing the rights and wrongs of the polis then I suggest you start a thread in the correct forum because I don't want to get in trouble again.
