During the Manky Mob's 9 in a row run, Celtic had some very mediocre teams, and I can't remember any Huns greetin about winning League Championships over poor Celtic sides.

When we got stronger, they responded accordingly. It's up to us now to do likewise.

Some people just hate Strachan, and whatever happens they will search for every chance to slate him.
There isn't a "true" way to be Celtic supporter, and with so many fans of this club, everyone can't have the same opinions. Fair enough. But without calling noone "wrong" fans, I really can't take this neverending critism of Strachan and his tactically arrangements and his own personality.

Firstly. Every manager (and his players) deliver best if the board and the fans on the stadium support him without a doubt. If Peter Lawwell and Co. didn't where 100% sure if his is the right guy, he should be sacked immediately. No manager could work without support and totally faith in his tactically arrangements. Remember Peter Lawwell do the signings together with Gordon Strachan, Neil Lennon and others do the training with him, and motivates the players.
Of course Gordon Strachan makes the decisions and take the responsibility. But everything what happens in the club must be seen in the "big picture".

Secondly. I'm glad that we have a manager who don't try to be anything else than he always have been. For the first time in my life as a Celtic supporter I want to see the press-conferences, because he isn't just "pleasing" the journalist, but a manager with positions and humor, who says what he means, without talking * about his players and so on.

And don't forget that the players like him. Of course some players who don't play could be frustated, but every prof. footballer want to play every week, that just human. But the players like him as a person, and the same with the coaches who works with him every day. I could mention that Strachan and Burns got very close friends, and that tells me that Strachan got the right personality for this job.

And he believe in the players abilitys. When Celtic lose games or make draws, many fans wants the half of the team to be changed. But he supports the players and believe they are good enough. And I'm pretty sure that it have something to say for the players, that they know manager have faith in them. It really dosn't motivates you, if you feel that noone believe in you.

    ---

And I'm pretty sick of all this "awful" signings talk. Every player should be judged in the view of the price and if they is signed to be first team players, or like "future" players. Otherwise, the critism dosn't really count.

Du Wei didn't cost os anything. We were looking on foreign markets, and tried to find cheap players who could turn out to be good. And the only way to see that, where to take them to Scotland on loan deals. Du Wei wasn't good enough, and we didn't lose anything with take the chance.

Paul Telfer wasn't signed as a "future world class player", and did a fine job.

The same with Dion Dublin. Signed as a allround backup, and did the job he were signed for. No big deal.

Pat McCourt? We don't know yet. But even if he don't turn out to be anything special, it isn't any big deal.

Jiří Jarošík wasn't a great signing. But wasn't that bad neither. Before his time in the Hoops, he have been played for CSKA Moscow and Chelsea, and were topscorer one season for Birmingham. I thought the fans want the club to sign players on that level? Don't slate the board for this signing.

Thomas Gravesen were awful. Agree, but club couldn't turn the chance to sign him down.

Mo Camara were awful aswell. But came on a bosman signing, and we didn't lose anything on him, except of bad performances on the pitch. The same with Chris Killen.

Adam Virgo were signed as a profile for Brighton & Hove Albion. Were unlucky and got some problems in the start, but too many remember him for the performances as a striker, and that isn't fair. His were a central defender, and how many actully know he is the only player in the Celtic history who was Man of the Match in EVERY match his started in the defence. I know many would disagree, but Virgo isn't a bad player. He were just bit unlucky with a red card, an injury and got played wrong. But fair enough, one of the only signings that can count as "waste of money".

    And I could talk on.
The point is that every signing shouldn't be judged as £5m. signings, and we all must accept that every huge footballclub needs many players, and they can't all be on a "first team profile level". Backup's, promising young players, youth players etc. they all should be signed if they looks like a good deal. The fact that I'm dissapointed by no signing of a left back this summer, shouldn't make the deal with the 16 year old talent from Aberdeen any harm.

Do I need to say I support Strachan as Celtic boss?

Btw, I think many of our formerly managers would like to get the chance to sign players on that lavel that Vennegoor of Hesselink, Andeas Hinkel, Evander Sno etc. have. Or would anyone tell me that Joachim Löw and Marco Van Basten don't know anything about football? (Andreas Hinkel was called up for the German national team. Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink was in the Euroes for the Netherlands, and Evander Sno have been on the national team aswell, just like he have been a signing for a big club as Ajax and got into the starting lineup last weekend). Ohh no, I forgot. The Anti-Strachan Brigade knows better than many of the top managers on the big scene.

I really fear for WGS when he eventually loses a league title.

If this is the sort of abuse he gets as a winner, what is he in for when things go wrong.

People are lining up for the public hanging, and it's pathetic.

and we've not made ourselves any stronger this year and whose fault is that? Strachans or the board? We have/had the chance to bury them this year with some quality signings, but we've not done it. They've spent big and are obviously banking on getting into the Champions League next year. We've done nothing to show we've got any sort of ambition during the close season.

Hope the wee man stays for a while yet, we are far from perfect but we where far from perfect under Saint Martin, but people turned a blind eye to that, because he was a celtic man.

When Wgs does go, this is my take on it, he will recommend his best buddy Mark Magee from Motherwell for the job, and of course the board will go with that, at the end of the day its a cheap option.

I agree mate, i was only stating that the 05/06 was a pretty tricky season than what that other guy said we had Hearts and Ranger potentially fighting us for the title.

I remember the huns and their 9 in a row....* we had some bad teams and we took a few beatings off of them....and as someone said in an earlier post...I dont remember them moaning that WS should get sacked or whatever...they just gloried in their success and our failures

I am not overjoyed at some of WGS signings, results or type of football we play at times.....but until he is a failure, he gets my support...as any Celtic manager would until he fails to deliver

    IMO

take time to look at the facts - im a life long celtic fan but astute enough to kno when we're well beaten - without the bigotted and biased viewpoint
