Managers are judged after their stint at the club IMO. there were times when I thought MON was * (like after we went out the Cup to ICT).

 

I have listened and applauded to dyed in the wool Tims over the years supporting our management teams and players throughout, even during the Huns 9 in row. Remember those days! However I agree with Jmmibhoy, his stats are spot on and if you really, really look at Strachs record, yes it shows success, but come on bhoys during 2 of the Huns worst seasons in their history and a long euro season for #3. If you are comfortable speaking of him in the same breath as big Jock then I fear we're doomed. Celtic FC is about us the fans and we should never accept 2nd best. Tell me we can stave off Ronaldo, Teves, Rooney, in Old Trafford with our current squad, face a VR team that boasts 7 spanish internalionists, Aalborg who apprently would beat the socks off Kaunas. DD has got the club finances under control, now its time to build. I have no doubt Strach will remain for the season but I dont think he will go beyond that. Lets hope we get the 4 lets hope we make the last 8 of the CL, lets hope Fergie, Smyth and the rest dont spoil our party. Managers take the credit when they sign good players, if the player doesn't perform because he isn't good enough then it's the MANAGERS fault for signing him.

Balance it against the fortune lost on Graveson or Donati or Virgo etc etc.

Just fed up of all the 'get the manager out' the real problem i think lies with the board, although we maybe just don't have the finances.

 

We have to remember that the board are here to run the business. What we dont want is to get ourselves into a position whereby we end up with debts like the great unwashed across the city. The last 3 years we have won the title while still reducing our debt - amazing.

Don't make false statements, i never implied MON was *.
He had a very poor last season and made a lot of mistakes, very expensive ones, was only pointing it out.
I'll never forget being in the stadium in seville thanks to MON. Even though i'm apparently not a real fan (Well, according to some of the children in here).

It's not my job to headhunt managers and i don't pretend to know the market throughout europe.
However, i don't for one second think there's not lots of managers out there who wouldn't think Hinkel, Wilson, Caldwell, Virgo, Sno, McCourt, Donati, M Brown, Killen (My * so many bad players i forgot THAT one, what a joke) are fit to wear celtic jerseys.

I didn't know much about Jansen, he delivered.

Had never heard of Wenger, he delivered.

I do think guys like McGhee, Moyes and even Keane at this stage in his career would do a job for us better than strachan.

I don't accept for a second no one out there's better than strachan.
