I wouldn't be upset if he was to go as I think we could do better.

I think this is more about getting in quality players for Europa league rather than bringing something different , him playing he could give commons a rest for Europa league games etc its a great tactical move if it happens

The last page has Irish posters wanting him gone So it's not that...this is Celtic chat so I'm not surprised people are arguing without reading the posts.

Yes if stokes could be replaced with a better player in that position ... don't see the problem with progression myself

I actually hate some tims more than I hate the huns. At least they have somewhat of a reason for being *.

I can see that, doesn't make stokes a better player though. If we can get money for stokes to fund the purchase of Armstrong would be good business though.

There is absolutely nothing to suggest that Armstrong would be more successful here than Stokes (and I like him, I hope we sign him this window), so it would be a huge risk selling Stokes to fund a move for him. In fact, I am certain that if you were to put Stokes into a team like Dundee Utd, he would run riot, leading to many on here suggesting we sign him. There is actually empirical evidence for this as well in his time at Hibs and Falkirk.

His time is up at Celtic. Thanks for the domestic goals over the years Stokes, but it's for the best to make a change now. Too often did nothing in big games that he played in.

What about the money we received for Watt and Forster? I think that should cover the cost of Armstrong.

Thought he looked like a guy that thought he was on his way out yesterday. Totally different player than Sammy but his form is as up and down as Sammy's was.

I agree with everything you've said, but we won't buy until we move some out so as we aren't good enough at the moment we need to speculate.
