No way in * should Balde be anywhere near this, he didn't even get a start against Morton!

This is a really tough decision though, Stokes hasn't really done anything that would be worthy of him losing his place.

Commons out wide loses us so much pace and means nearly all counter attacking opportunities will have to be played through Sammy, who could potentially be marked out of the game leaving us with nothing. I think we need pace on both wings.

 

Iam not his biggest fan but it'll be harsh on stokes if he's dropped but he's got to be running his * into the ground non stop or get him off or once he's knackered

 

Commons works hard defensively though and his passing could open up Barca on counter attacks.

 

I wouldn't start Commons, far too slow for European football.

I'd start both Pukki and Stokes.

 

If Matthews is fit, then I would have this team, but with him in for Commons.

 

It'll be one or the other..

I think Lenny might go for pukki up top on his own for this just going on previous comments that he does it internationally all the time..

Also if Matthews is fit he's a certainty to start,Lenny hinted to it aswell..

True but he needs somebody making the right runs to pass too and without a couple of pacey wingers he's not gonna get that.

A couple of things I think Pukki has got going for him over Stokes is his work rate, tracking back etc. and that Stokes likes to drift out wide which isn't ideal when playing with one up top.

There could be a lot of space tomorrow night and Stokes has the intelligence to exploit that and Commons should be able to find him and Sammy going into that space

 

Agreed. Sammy simply must start he has a habit of rising to these occasions. Stokesy is our best forward and Commons is the man to make things happen. Bring on Pukki second half maybe if we need a goal and it's not working.

 

Tend to agree with you. Stokes + Pukki is asking too much.
Balde upfront for me to rummell that reorganised Barca defence about.

Commons is too slow for these type of games, sub for me in the second half.

Commons created our best chance against Milan. Starting at home v Barca with an untried front two would be a bit too bold for me

Stokes is in form and is the man in possession for me. Pukki shows promise but is still settling into the team so I think he is better coming off the bench later in the game.

can't decide myself stokes aint the best at playing back to goal and does drift wide but is our on fire striker this season, pukki is tidy but hasn't really set the heather alight at celtic, balde's height and strength are big attibutes to a side like ours that crosses the ball a lot during games but hasn't had enough games

i think commons because he is a good finisher is good creatively and works hard

 

The way it is just now, and with us more likely employing only one out-and-out striker in the game tomorrow, I'd go with Stokes only. No way should Pukki be up front on his own over Stokes.

I'd actually like to see us employ the line-up we seen a few times this season already with Stokes up front and Commons in just behind him with that free role he seems to have.
