Scholes and lampard are better than all them.

anyone doubting Gerrards loyalty to Liverpool are lying to themselves because they either hate Liverpool or him.

If push came to shove id rate the best as:

    1. Gerrard
    2. Keane/Vieira
    4. Fabregas
    5. Toure
    6. Alonso/Scholes
    8. Lampard/Makelele
    10. Essien
    11. Mascherano
    12. Deco/Ballack
    14. Petit
    15. Modric

Unless i've forgot someone. Gerrard top cause he was a good allrounder, great leader and he scored a lot of goals while still getting about the pitch which is harder to do so id move him to the top. Keane and Vieira I can't split, slightly different roles but also great leaders. Fabregas 4th as he has untouched creativity, Toure 5th as although great slightly inconsistant. Alonso and Scholes I can't split again, Alonso great passer and played better than Scholes as a deeper player but Scholes also had a good career as a goalscoring midfielder in his earlier career which bring it back to even. Lampard and Makelele again can't split, Lampard was to goalscoring midfielder what Makelele was to sitting protecting midfielder, both limited in the other side of the game but great consistency in their role. Essien next as he was a good allrounder, hampered by injury but at his best great and had a couple of good year. Mascherano next, basically a poor mans Makelele, not as stable in his ball retention and not as much a master at defending. Next Deco and Ballack, two greats but slightly over the hill in the EPL, still very good players though and added a lot to Chelsea. Petit, good allround midfielder, decent passer, good stamina and defensive side to his game. Modric to round it off at 15, decent allround player good passer and reliable, not the best defensively considering he played deep, has improved a lot since he moved.

Others I can recall but wouldnt have among those for now Ramsey, Veron, Hargreaves, Carrick, Fletcher, Gilberto.

    You classing Silva as a centre-mid? :97:

Veron played well in England, not as good as he was capable of but still better than players like Arteta or Mikel or Fernandinho or others.

Plays in the same areas as Fabregas and Deco and you have included them.

Veron didn't play well in England.

Was a massive flop at Man United and dumped by Mourinho as soon as he got his eyes on him. Only played 58 games in the Premier League.

Gerrard was a class player at his peak, actually one of the best English midfielders.

However I still rate Scholes, Lampard and nevermind Keano and Viera above him.

Great player, PL and Liverpool won't be the same without him.

He looks finished to me, even last season you could notice that his legs are gone, but last season he gave 150% to finally win the PL. Unfortunately because of his * up Liverpool finished second, really sad moment (or funny if you hate Liverpool and Gerrard :icon_mrgreen: ).

This season they are awful. Rodgers brought in some really bad players that will never be good enough for Liverpool. Suarez went to Barca, Sturridge is always injured, and Balotelli looks frustrated. Season to forget. I want to believe that Gerrard has decided to do this because he feels that he can't contribute as he once could, and that would be fair.

I don't know who will be his successor because Liverpool can't attract big names anymore. Next captain will probably be Henderson though.

As for who's better Scholes, Lampard or Gerrard, I would say that first two are technically better, but Gerrard is better all around player. It's really hard to decide. I see Gerrard as attacking midfielder (I know that he played as some sort of deep lying playmaker since Rodgers took over), Lampard is classic box to box midfielder, and Scholes is something between those two. It's all about opinions really.

No he doesn't. Fabregas has regularly played in the centre of the park as well as behind the strikers as did Deco at Chelsea, infact Deco almost always played in the centre where he also played at Barcelona at Porto he played basically always as an attacking midfielder but had moved back through his time at Barca. You could play Fabregas and Deco in centre-mid with a defensive player behind them like a Matic no bother.

David Silva is incapable of playing in the centre of midfield. He is comparible to players who played wide midfield/wing/attacking midfield/second striker wide or behind a striker like Hazard, Giggs, Mata, Ginola, Nasri, Ronaldo, Ozil, Overmars, Eriksen, Robben, Sanchez, Cazorla, Oscar, Willian, Schurrle or Zola.

Veron was a flop by his standards but he was still better than most. Similar to Mendieta in Italy. If Arteta had cost £30million he'd be a joke laughing stock too. Price tag doesn't come into how good they played though. If Veron was unknown before signing and cost £8million he'd have been classed as a good signing.
