The Daily Record is a good source of the truth... Is it not?

I'm a massive fan. Him and an attacking midfielder would be excellent.

That's right I remember that at the time, think we did want both for that but hibs were rightfully playing hardball with a lot of assets around that time..
My brother met Kevin Thomson on holiday, same hotel/pool and this was while he was still at hibs my brother brought up celtic obviously and Thomson said he was a Tim so I assume the rumours about him desperate to come to is rather than them are pretty much spot on..

Rod Petrie has a cheek to be honest 4.4 mill for Scott brown was great business for them,so what if we haggled abit and tried to get it lower or 2 for the price..
Was gutted we didn't get fletcher and I know he didn't want to sell so no blame at our board or manager,we tried..
Didn't know the ins and outs of why he was a * and didn't sell to us,makes sense now..

I thought it was Middlesbrough who offered money for him in January and Burnley came in for him in the summer? I don't see how he can be bitter about brown when you think about it they got top dollar for him.

this surprises me due to the amount of money involved but it would be great if we pulled this off, he's proven quality.

Come to think of it I think they actually wanted more than the 4.4 aswell as if that wasn't enough :97:

Crazy when you think about it and the Scottish climate..

He's a * anyway who's ruined hibs as far as I've seen, sold assets for top dollar and replaced them with dross and a new stand..

Not sure whether I like the idea of him coming or not. Seems like a big gamble based on his current injury record. 2 seasons ago the sky pundits were creaming over him saying hi we could play for a top 4 epl club, but since then he's not done much except keep the physios busy.

Alot of money to spend but it would wise to spend on Fletcher.

He will,at the very minimum, hold his price for the next 3/4 years but potentially his value will soar if he has good champions league campaigns.

Just think how import his goals could be worth in qualifiers etc.

Basically only paying his wages in my opinion, great investment.

I can't see him going for as little as £6 million though. In terms of the Premiership's fees, I'd say he is worth the money Sunderland paid. He kept them up last season really.

That comes as no surprise. No chance he will sign. If there was ever a time for it to happen it would've happened last summer.

Does anyone think this will really happen? £6 million and he's going to want at the very least £40,000 a week.

Id like to see it happen because he would score a lot of goals in the SPFL and Europe but I have serious doubts it will go through.

Are folk trying to double bluff themselves when they say we wouldn't spend £6 million on 1 player?

Of course we would, we can afford it for the right player. I just don't think that should be Fletcher personally.

I think Lennon would want to, but I don't see it being sanctioned by the hierarchy, at least not while we dont have a domestic challenger and the champions league group stages are not guaranteed every year.
