£20m for Steven Fletcher? :smiley-laughing002: He's barely played and he's had a terrible injury record at Sunderland. They'll definitely be making a loss on him but I'd imagine they'd be holding out for closer to £8m.

 

His injury proneness worries me if we are spending that amount of money.

 

20 Mill is completely realistic in the current EPL climate. Just checked it was 12 million he cost S'land, despite his recent injuries he's had a reasonably good goal record since he went there, has a number of years of premier league experience now, is an internationalist (granted for a * nation) and is 26 years old - in his prime. So even if they get relegated Sunderland would be looking for a very large figure back for him.

Celtic won't pay more than 5 million for anyone ffs so even "only" 8 million is sheer fantasy talk for us.

Forgot Sunderland were fighting relegation. I take it any transfer to us is dependent on them going down then, aye?

 

Quick browse on a Sunderland forum and majority of them said they would let him go for that.

I still think he is a cracking player, he scores goals in * teams in the Premier League. Reckon he would tear the league apart up here as he already knows the deal. I'd still feel slightly underwhelmed if we splashed £6 million on him though.

 

Reckon it's unlikely, especially as Poyet has said that Fletcher is a key part of Sunderland's relegation fight.

If Fletcher goes then we need Wickham back, who has just extended his stay at Sheffieild Wednesday until at least the 28th where he's been doing really well. Hopefully he can come back with that confidence and enthusiasm to keep on scoring for Sunderland.

Record is reporting contact has been made and that Fletcher is interested.

We would have to pay £40k per week though for him. I'd love him here and can't help but get excited about the idea.

Love this to be true, can't see it though he's just back from injury and their main striker.

 

He is a fantastic player, Lawwell should have gave WGS the money to sign him in his last window. He could be a signing in the molde of Sutton and Hartson.
