Honestly believe QPR would release him rather than loan again, mate. We could get him really cheap.

I agree about taking it easy with him though...I'd offer a year's deal with the option of an extension.

I wasn't overly impressed by that. Away at Reading in the championship it looks like..

Some good blocks but get's dragged about out of position and although being quick, some of his turning and reactions aren't instinctively quick..

It was decent but hardly here thinking ooft..

I'm warming to the signing based on what a lot of people are saying about him but I'm still unsure..

Apparently he's on 42k a week at QPR, no way should we pay that for him. Never been overly impressed with him either tbh, but I trust Brendan's judgement.

He will surey get a drop in his wages no matter which club he will sign, we could easily offer him a decent contract which gets extended or negotiated again if he plays a certain amount of games/impresses.

I read he turned down Dinamo Moscow and I'm pretty sure they would have at least been able to match those wages out there..

I'm not saying he wouldn't drop his wages to come here, as I actually think he would, but u reckon he could get those wages somewhere else still..

With a short term contract? Surely something near it would be possible for him to get but not if anybody takes the gamble to give him a longer contract straightforward.

Pretty much everybody who leaves QPR has to accept they'll have a massive drop in wage. Their actual business plan for years was to massively overpay and pray it paid off.

    Dunno..

True. They are skint now and will take year's, maybe decade's to get right..

It depends what he actually wants.

If he wants to still just continue to be one of those players that jumps about sides in England, working under * gaffers in pish sides, just to continue to make similar money, then fine. That probably won't help him out of the hole he is in.

However, if he wants to transform his career, get out of London, work under a man who knows just as much about how to handle the mental health of a player as he does their ability on the park, while winning trophies, then here is the option. Despite the drop in wages, surely he'd fancy it.

I'm honest enough to admit I've not really seen him play, so can't comment on his ability.

But I trust the judgement of Brendan, so I'll just jump on board with whatever he thinks :84:

Exactly. A move here could literally be life changing for him.

If he's willing to come here for a big drop in wages on a short term contract to prove himself then that'd be the best deal, if it goes well offer a nice wage increase.
If he does come here it will indicate he wants to turn his career around, like Sinclair done.

This could be a great signing. To get value for money, we generally aim to sign players that are either up and coming, or out of form with scope to improve again.

We need to leverage Brendan's connections to get players that we usually wouldn't have a chance to sign. On paper I think this signing is remarkably similar to Sinclair.

Bookings now become a problem for us in central defense.

Should start taking serious interest in this if we haven't already. The sooner we get a proven, experienced CB like Caulker in, the better. Can't go into the later rounds with those doubts.

Agree. He's got the experience and has worked under Rodgers before. Feel he will have same impact as Sinclair

The guy was destined to be a full time England international when he was at Spurs, many were absolutely amazed he left Spurs in the first place. Still an excellent player there.
