There's no chance of this happening.

Would be annoyed if this happened. The last thing we need is a slow ageing midfielder when our midfield is our strongest position at the minute.

The point was that even a lot of Liverpool fans have accepted he's past it and don't want him playing. His legs will be even more gone next year.

We're not some retirement home for players desperately seeking a league title.

Hire good coaches if we want our young midfielders to learn things. Not have them sit on the bench behind a washed-up Liverpool legend.

His legs have gone for the EPL all my pals who are liverpool fans say the same and they have played much better since he has not been in the side, but he is still Gerrard and can pull something out of the bag for them.

Pro's if we do take him on loan, bums on seats, shirt sales loads of news coverage and that will keep the money men happy at celtic.
Also the knowledge he would pass on to other midfield players

    Cons
    Wages
Will he cut it here? I mean he is prone to injures cause he is older
And would he be keeping someone out the side who needs game time?

For me I would like to see him in the Hoops if a fair deal can be done, just don't want us to be paying over the odds and miss out another players cause the money men want a quick get cash deal in.

Not for me. They are talking about Gerrard just being here for three months. It would be pointless. The money could be used better elsewhere, like getting in CBs and the prolific striker 20 goal a season striker we need. The only thing i can think of to why they would him for three months is to sell jerseys, raise club profile etc, maybe so young midfielders could learn from him. Old experienced campaigner etc etc.

This is a club marketing decision and not necessarily a club footballing decision, however from a business point of view it makes sense hat in a struggling financial market as the SPFL is, then we may have to do gimmick signings in order to boost revenue in other areas (Shirt Sales/TV/Seats etc.).

I don't hold it against the club for trying this stuff out to make money, I would be annoyed if it interfered with what Ronnie is doing or upset the team to the extent it effected results on the pitch.

However having a player of Gerrard's stature at Celtic would be in my own opinion beneficial for the club as a whole like him or not think he is past it or not he has been a world class player and I feel that his knowledge he could pass on to the younger members of the Celtic squad would be immense. Maybe he could come in as a player /coach role you never know?

If there is zero footballing benefit to signing a player then we shouldnt. In this case there is, weather or not marketing is the primary motivation does not matter. He will bring value to our squad and will lift the mood of the supporters.

why would the mood need lifting?

on course for first treble in 14 years. great young manager thats getting us playing exciting, attacking football, and building a good young squad that will only get better (barring the obvious summer departures)

If he was signed then he'd be used as a rotational player and of course, champions league. He would probably rotate with the likes of brown, Johansson and bitton. Good marketing move, would say a good footballing move too, wages would br mental though. More optimistic about this one than other epl players coming to their end

I would say the fans are in a great mood at the moment. Everyone is fully behind Deila now it would seem, and there is a buzz at the games just now in my opinion. Funnily enough, there was a few folk on my bus last night who said they are enjoying going to games more than they have for a long time, I would agree with them there.

Why not, marque signing and could be a good marketing move. It's only a loan.

Until we repeat the lions season then it can always be better. Like banging a supermodel and finding 50 quid on the street later that night.
