Too late to loan him out now.
He should have been loaned out two seasons ago to get him up to speed so that he wasn't thrown in totally inexperienced this season.

Lads done very well in handling this season and hasn't put much of a foot wrong. But he certainly needs to still improve and command his position (in more ways than one).

    He'll easily get 10/15 starts..

As it stands, he could be our only current centre half still here and available at the start of next season..

10/15 isn’t good enough at this stage mate. Needs to be 35/45

I agree if Welsh is to develop to a decent level 15 starts really isn’t enough

He'll probably get more to be honest with our volume of game's..

We can't be loaning him out though. That should've been done last season and the season before at a good level. We'll need him for some continuity for at least 6 month's of the season and then if he isn't getting enough game's.....get him out to a top flight club..

Have to remember, he was loaned out last season, yes it was juat to greenock morton but he was playing there then recalled to the team in January and I think played 2/3 games was kept as cover and he's since stepped in and is showing well really should have been kept in over Duffy from the games that we played with 3

He will play a significant number of games next season particularly at the start due to lack of options amd depending on time lines for Juliens return, who we sign and when Ajer is away he will be an important player. Even if he is knocked back to 4th choice that will still see plenty game time and will be a vital part of the squad.

As a club we play 60+ games in a season

Pre season games, 38 league games, up to 5 Scottish Cup games, up to 4 league cup potentially 8 euro qualifiers, 6 group games and then any knockout rounds.

Add in international games (including youth) any bounce games etc as well and it's a * load.

In addition to the volume of game's we play and the cover needed to meet all those there's our training which (this season excluding probably) should be some of the highest level.

If he was loaned to another Scottish prem club they are more around 40 games in a season so of he played a 3rd of our games that's more than half for most.

It is best for us and him for him to be here next season.

I don’t think he will but we can’t afford to have him just sitting on the bench next year. This bhoy has something about him, I really like him.

I want him to start next season. I really think he will be a mainstay in the starting 11 for years to come.

He is only getting to get better the more games he gets and working under a progressive manager will bring him on ten fold.

Sometimes, I wonder what people expect of a young player breaking through.
Guy has come into a * show train wreck, and has been solid. Sure, he is still a tad raw but seems to be improving every game, guess a lot is down to him feeling more secure/confident.
Well done, kid, keep up the good work.

True, what must he have been thinking watching that club footed donkey Duffy bungling his way through games, knowing he was on 5 times more than him in wages. Jesus wept. What a screw up Duffy turned out.

Tbf he's going to make progress here just taking part in training sessions lead by someone who knows what they're doing.

We should definitely keep him next season. He'll play his part, I have no doubt, and he'll save us a money that's needed for other jerseys to be filled.

Could well be someone to build a defence around in years to come.

He's progression seems to be steady and decent. Might not hot the heights of what VVD has, KT or possibly what Ajer could achieve. But could be a real stalwart for us if he keeps his game up.
