Surprised at people saying hes not good enough. As others have said hes not put a foot wrong. Thought he done reallt well with balls up to that wee rat morelos. And covered kenny well vs kent. Majority of fans want us to go in a new direction as a club and focus more on youth and development and actually try and build something but on the other hand some are saying welsh is "not good enough" based on * all as far as i can see. If welsh being in and around the team and getting a chance to develop means we need to buy 1 less centre back in the summer then im fine with that.

If he even has a plan at all it’ll be a step in the right direction.

Me and my brother had a full scale argument if we mark zonally or man for man. We kinda agreed we think they’re going for both and have ended up with none.

I liked MON’s description the other day, as Celtic manager he basically told the biggest (and best in the air centre half) to follow the flight of the ball and forget men and areas completely, that will win you 70%+ of the balls being put into your box.

I reckon if we’d done that with either Jullien or Duffy we wouldn’t have conceded anywhere near the volume of goals, both are * hot in the air.

Lot of potential, he doesn't seem to make rookie mistakes and is composed which is always a good sign of potential, whether we nurture that potential or not is a different matter.

Aye, Bobo was ‘zonal’ except his zone was the full box. Everybody else just pickup a man.

I honestly think Duffy was attempting to do it this season, but he kept trying to get into useless shoving matches while doing it.

If Julien was fit all season I think you’d have seen a major difference in the full defence.

Welsh is still young, but for me, he is ready to be a regular. With the correct coaching and partner playing beside him, he could be a very important player for us I think. I can't remember him doing anything wrong since he got into the team.

Hes a good one to develop. Plays with a older head on young shoulders, never rushed and does the basics well.

He’s mouldable, has a lot going for him.

With his attitude he’ll have a good career, luck will determine whether that’s at Celtic or not. He has more basic technical attributes than big Mick for example.

I was never a professional, but I'll never not forget what I was taught at boys club level.

To quote my gaffer, "a blade of grass isnae gonnae score against ye, so with the * do ye want to mark it for?"

No a regular for me next season but definitely a capable backup..

He has come on leaps and bounds..

Composed, confident and pretty good on the ball..

Shown enough to convince me we have a player on our hands here. Needs to be looked after properly.

Another player who would improve even further under Howe.

I like him. Nowhere near the finished article but he's clearly got a set of nuts on him and hasn't been overawed being thrown in to a shambles of a team.

If he isn’t a regular we need him out on loan for a year, somewhere he will get games and continue developing.

We can't be loaning him out next year. He will be about the squad, when the games start he will be essential as he will. Probably be our only real CB (depending on how quick ajer is away) I reckon behind Julien and a new signing he will sit as 3rd pick (possibly 4th depending on signings but Julien will be out a while anyway ) so should see a significant amount (over 20) of games anyway
