He does have a lot to improve on and learn, but right now, being in the team can only progress him.
Just a pity we dont have anyone to coach him.

 

Honestly think under a decent coach this boy can go far.

Agree. That header goes in yesterday, and by today this thread would’ve been 3 pages longer, with guys going, ‘It wasn’t just the goal: he had a great game all round’, which he did.

Isn’t the lad’s fault that it’s been a horror show of a season.

 

Correct, the boys been playing like Duffys wages should warrant. Crazy to think beginning of season welsh would be keeping a dogshit Ireland captain out the squad

 

Him and Ajer are the only 2 players on our payroll that have shown any balls in this * show of a season.

Brilliant today.

I think he has been very consistent since coming in. Hasn’t let us down at all. Reads the game very well and nothing seems to phase him.

Wins his fair share of headers considering he isn’t the tallest. Think he wins more at corners than Ajer to be honest

 

One of the few with pass marks, didn't do a thing wrong that i can think of.

 

It’s nice to see home grown centre half talent get a chance now.

I honestly think he will be a big a player for us for years to come.

Him and jullien next year id be happy with. Doesn’t put a foot wrong and doesn’t try anything ridiculous. SAFE is what we’ve needed for years and that’s exactly what Welsh is. Get some other centre halves in to compete with those 2 and we should be okay going forward in that position (Ajer will be off obviously) gutting he wasn’t given the chance earlier in the season

Definitely shown he is good enough to be in the squad next season. Very comfortable and composed for someone with little experience.

Height is the only thing that goes against him for a CB but he makes up for it with his reading of the game.

 

He is 6' 3" apparently, well according to wiki Ajer at 6' 5" making him look smallish.. If he is 6' 3" decent enough for a CB..

He reads the game very well.

Looks like a boy playing in the 1st team has been the making of him. I thought he had a great game today's, just needs the right partner, ajer isn't it bcoz he's never in a month of Sundays a centre half. In such a poor season we have a couple of plus points, him and Turnbull.
