  1. We furloughed quite a few recently did we not? So likely not even match fit/sharp.

  2. Aye tell that to Connell and Henderson..

  3. * knows about Connell, but Henderson I can imagine wanting to fight for his place after Lille and his County loan being disastrous.

  4. Really is bizzare Connell for 3 year now he's been nowhere and been sitting with the reserves..

Aye that County loan was a stinker. Would've been better with Hughes there now..

  5. Would be a great player for Hughes to develop mate. We’ve seen a lot of talented youngsters that we’ve shouted to play a lot, most of them have not been good enough. There’s been others from the youths made there debuts before him, there must be reasons for that

  6. I think they have loaned a few of our younger guys out to gain experience. I don't know if they can be called back in case of an emergency - that emergency being the possibility of having to play Duffy

  7. Hopefully we gave it as an emergency soon as Duffy stuck his strip on tonight

  8. boy look a talent but now theres every possibility we'll not see him again play for celtic

    ffs, sad for him :(

  9. I’m praying it’s just bruised.

He’s made our defence so much better.

  10. Like it was said there, no reserve league in play it's just been odd bounce games, there would have been the u18s too but their all furloughed now.

  11. me too we need homegrown players to make it at the club and i dont think we give them anywhere near enough of a chance

  12. Aye, I was being a panic merchant, that makes a lot of sense.

  13. At the same time, who have we not gave game time and went on to regret it? Does Andy Roberston count?

  14. Lennon said: “He got a real heavy knock, a trauma. His foot is in a pot at the minute so it is difficult to assess the damage until the physios get a real good look at it. We are hoping it is just a bang on the ankle.

“But we will have to see if there is any damage there. He seemed okay. With the foot in the pot it kind of keeps it stable and he didn’t look to be in any distress.

“He has done very well. We have been very pleased with him and he is a good kid. Hopefully he won’t miss any games. If he does he will be back in the squad as soon as possible because he has earned it.”

  15. That sounds more promising than I was expecting. Will wait and see though.

  16. It does sound more hopeful as watching him be stretchered off like that I though for sure he was done for at least a month or more. Would be surprised though if he is fit for this weekend though.

  17. Maybe 3 weeks if we are lucky.

  18. Celtic defender Stephen Welsh appears to have got a lucky break and avoided any serious injury from his horror injury at St Mirren.

The Scotland under-21 cap was stretchered off after Saints striker Jon Obika accidentally caught him on the ankle in the second half of Wednesday’s clash.

Television footage showed the 21-year-old go over badly on his ankle.

Welsh hobbled out of St Mirren Park wearing a protective boot after Celtic ’s 4-0 win.

The 21-year-old was sent for a check-up with the club and player relieved to discover there were no breaks or ligament damage.

The Hoops believe Welsh has got away with nothing but some severe bruising.

Speaking after the win in Paisley manager Neil Lennon said: "He got a real heavy knock, a trauma.

"His foot is in a pot at the minute so it is difficult to assess the damage until the physios get a real good look at it. We are hoping it is just a bang on the ankle.

"But we will have to see if there is any damage there. He seemed okay.

On-loan centre-back Shane Duffy replaced Welsh when he was carried off in Paisley.

The Brighton defender had lost his place after struggling since joining Celtic but would be the most likely candidate to step in if Welsh can't make it.
