Stephen Welsh

Since that debut at Hamilton I always thought there was a player there. Hasn’t done much wrong in a Celtic jersey since then and I’m sure he has a future here.

 

Criminally underused this season, done a job every time he's been thrown in. The Jersey is (should be) his to lose now, no doubt lennon will be desperate to get Duffy back in soon.

 

Anyone think he's got a chance of making the Euros if he keeps starting & performing every week until the end of the season? Scotland are poor in the CB department so hardly difficult competition trying to get a place amongst it.

 

I see Clarke picking a very similar lot to the last year. Obviously all can't go but I doubt anybody new will come in.

Shame anaw you could tell the complete difference in composure when Duffy came on for Welsh, as in Welsh was very much composed and Duffy just wisnae...

Duffy is mince and constantly getting caught out or fouling..

Welsh is composed, competent and a leader at the back..

 

Aye you could see Welsh was really communicating too which is always a positive sign from a CB nevermind a young guy.

Duffy just looks like a Tyrannasaurus Rex that suffered a stroke after running face first into a bridge.

 

Who's the youth centre half in the under 23 as rather play them than Duffy pure bombscare .

 

Think he was captain for the reserves for a period. It's been very noticeable..

I’ve been shouting for him to get a game for the last 2 years.

 

I didn't rate him before his debut against Accies..

Saw him on alba when he was at Morton I think it was away at Inverness and he got roasted..

He's came on leaps and bounds since then..

 

According to transfermarkt we have no CB's in the reserves squad other than Welsh.
