Bitton will start with Duffy..

No sure if Elhamed is back either?

Welsh will be on the bench..

 

As I said in match thread, no issues with him coming in from the start, would have him in over Duffy at the moment. Ajer out gives us a headache but I think NL will still play Duffy. Glad Bitton is an option again.

 

Surely we cant keep starting that big diddy?

 

I like him. Hasn't let us down which can't be said for most of our defenders.

 

There's no chance he'll drop Duffy for the weekend mate..

 

I can't get my head round Lennon's protection of certain players.

As a player he'd have a go at anyone not pulling their weight or good enough. Why is it so different as a manager.

 

If we had other options available then there's a chance that Ajer would play alongside Julien or Bitton. With the former 2 out and the latter just returning from Covid then I can't see Duffy being left out.

He's desperately short on confidence, you can see the anguish in his face. A good performance v Aberdeen will hopefully give him some back but the performance levels do need to get much better.

 

What Welsh does is what we should expect from Duffy, keeps it simple on the ball and is solid defensively and very good in the air surprisingly. I like his composure, looks the more experienced player out him and Duffy.

Fair comment. I have no further argument.

 

This is the thing for me, he has came in and thrusted in to BIG games, on the whole he hasnt put a foot wrong that you wouldn't expect from such inexperience. Equally he hasn't wowed us with any Jozo-esque tackles on someone like Miller, or went on amazing runs that Efe and Ajer was/are capable of.
He has done enough to warrant more game time, fairer game time.
More so than the useless donkey that is Duffy. Absolute criminal that Duffy kept his place over the past two weeks while Welsh has been dropped to accommodate him. Actually puts a fear in to me that we are obligated to play that donkey.

Did he * lennon missus or something? How he's the one to never appear after the few games he was in is a mystery

 

To me, starting a midfielder ahead of him was ridiculous. Don’t get me wrong: Bitton over Duffy all day long, but Welsh over both. Haven’t seen the boy really put a foot wrong. He didn’t look out of place in the October derby.

 

Is he our only defender from the youth's?

Do we no have anyone else?

 

The way he has been treated is shocking

 

I'd rather have him than Duffy or Bitton.

 

Sorry, but this lad isn't the answer. He's been okay when called upon but nothing to shout about. Not at the level we need. Bittons * up doesnt change that

 

Rather give him a run of games now that the league is over before Duffy or Bitton.
