    Course you would :50:

As I'm sure you condemned Paul (I can't leave the centre circle) Hartley's tackle on Fergushun in he 3-2 Huns win and would equally do so if we had been 1-0 up on Wednesday and it had been Nacho Novo sprinting clear.

ERmmm... OK, let's try and sort out this misunderstanding...

    1) We are talking about the McManus tackle on Andrew Driver, right?
    2) And the Keane tackle on Haaland, yeah?
    3) And you have seen these tackles?

It's just that there is no comparison whatsoever between them.

One is a deliberate legbreaker which ended a guy's career, and the other is a simple trip which the opposing player got up from without even complaining?

Maybe I've missed something in the middle of the thread...

    No worries :50:

I hope TM has told him 'next time a winger skins you, mind and wish him well on his way'.

To all those giving mick pelters for the tackle.

If you were a manager and your team 1-0 up,in injury time..and your centre half commited that foul in the same situation...would you all be disgusted at him.

    Defend the tackle?

We'd have a penalty and Skippy, like Driver, would be perfectly fine.

Did Mick raise his studs or go in with 2 feet?

I've seen harsher tackles at 5's on a Tuesday night.

No I will tell you what Mogga should say to him. :50:

Don't be a stupid * and get yourself sent off and reduce your team to ten men when we still have a chance of salvaging the game, and get yourself suspended for the next two games into the bargain.

You are captain of Celtic and you are meant to be a shining example
for the younger players and fans, and you are meant to conduct yourself with dignity and honesty.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it :bbpd:

    No worries mate. :50:

So, you are Mick, Andy Driver has just hit the ball past you and is haring in on goal, would you stop and recite those 2 paragraphs as he jogs into the box and smashes it into the net?

Now you are talking about the situation.....the tackle and the situation are two different stories.

Well going by his other posts, if he was Mick he'd walk over to the bench and ask to be replaced by someone from the youth team. :56:

I can quite assure you that I would.

If a player from another team made that challenge on a Celtic player I'd go * ballistic. I can hardly then turn around and laugh about it if Mick goes and does it to Driver can I?

I just thought the whole incident was sad and a bit cringeworthy.

He didn't give 2 * about where the football was, he aimed solely at Andrew Drivers legs in a blatant attempt to bring him down. That's about as clear as day as you can get with regards to cheating on a football pitch. He went outwith the rules in order to gain an advantage.

How is it cheating when he was punished with a yellow card which was upgraded to red on consultation with the referee?

He didnt cheat, its called a professional foul. If doesnt matter if the ball is at his feet or not, he meant to take the player down illegally and he was punished for it. Its that simple!

You guys have really got it in for him haven't you I mean I don't think big mick should be in the team no but he is a celtic man thru and thru and should not be treated the way he is being treated .

The man thought he was doing his best for the club he knew that if driver got past him hearts would have been in for a chance to put the match to bed so he put himself on the line for the team .

It wasn't that bad a tackle all he did was go in and trip him up not stick his studs into him so how somone can compare the tackles of keane and mcmanus I don't know .

Would you all have been shouting about how bad the tackle was if it was another player? No you wouldn't so stop making the excuse you are reacting like this because it was a bad tackle and realise it's because you just don't like him .

Some people on here need to get a grip ! Yes , it was cynical but in no way was it like some of the tackles that are in the earlier you tube clips. Those are studs up, violent, leg breakers ! Mick simply took Drivers leg away. I actually think Driver knows what is coming and tries to hurdle it, but Mick catches him mid air. I'm not condoning it but its not an assault as some are trying to make out !

i never said micks tackle was in the same mould as keanes mate! not once!

no you have it all in line apart from you thinking i said micks tackle was as bad as keanes!!
