Cus Pete prolly thinks it sends out a message of strength, instead of just being sensible.

Id take him if we managed to get rid of some people first of all, i dont see the point in adding him when we have Cole and Ciftci and the likes of Boerigter and co all still here we need to start getting rid of people and adding in quality instead of just quantity use the wages wisely and if we need to rotate use the young lads.

Sunderland will be desperate to get rid of him I'd of thought, they'll let him go for next to * all anyway. It all depends on how much of a wage cut he's willing to take. I'd imagine there will still be clubs in England who'll offer him the sort of money we won't be able to. He won't get the chance to go to a massive club and win medals down there though.

    Perhaps.

I'm completely in two minds about him. Not a huge fan, haven't rated him throughout his career.

However at 28, we might get him at the right time if his injuries stay behind him.

Agreed that we def have to start clearing out the pish. That has to be a priority for this and the next window. Surely we will be trying to punt a few at the moment? I'd love to open the forum later today and see news of us chucking Derk.
Would feel almost as good as a signing. Knowing we're shifting the * and clearing up wages, etc.

Wouldn't be surprised if we did sign him at this point. Got rid of our best two strikers at the club in Watt and Stokes, two classy forwards with bundles of talent, and then be lumbered with lethargic Deadwood like Cole and this guy. Aye, would sum up things nicely. The Norwegian Klopp is more like Trappatoni with Ireland by the day, except he's worse because we lose all the games that matter.

Fletcher would be an amazing signing. He's the forward we've been missing. Great touch, strength, wins free kicks, good in the air. I'd feel much more upbeat going into the Euro Qualifiers with Fletcher than Cifci or Griffiths.

Really starting to warm to this, he's only recently been playing pish for a Sunderland team that has been completely awful in his time there, not one player in that team has stood out the past few seasons, he surely can't be playing with confidence and his record prior to them was quality.

There is definitely a player there, he's at a really good age and once he gets his confidence back then we will have a real player on our hands.

The biggest thing Watt & Stokes have in common, is that both have tried their hardest to throw away their Celtic careers. Watt already succeeded, and Stokes is close to it as well.

Apparently we've offered 20k p/w. I'd rather a loan, see how it goes for both parties and if we're both happy at the end of the season, take it from there.
