Near the end he mentions that they are hoping to sign one more player i'm guessing that is Scepovic

 

But its not the same case....signing a very good keeper for free because your main keeper is leaving is not the same as replacing current players who remain at the club.

Replacing current players should be down to the manager and no one else.

And if this new manager had made some signings the week he arrived based on some youtube vids this place would be in melt down.:smiley-laughing002:

It takes time to judge players and decide who needs replacing and it would have been nuts for us to make rushed signings.

We had plenty time to fully prepare ourselves for Maribor mate, and we weren't. We had long enough to bring in a striker, and we didn't. Deila was able to identify that we needed wingers after very little time in the job, you aren't telling me he didn't know then, what areas needed strengthened and what didn't.

The truth is, with the window nearly shut, we have brought in 4 players on loan, none of whom are certain to be here next year, and a free transfer. Are you happy with that?

 

we've signed a keeper. we've signed a striker. we've signed one loanee with an option to buy and 3 straight loans.

Deila doesn't do negotiations though. He identifies areas and targets peter law well does the rest.

 

I'm not blaming Deila for this in the slightest mate. Deila has been let down by the board in my opinion. We went in to the qualifiers against Maribor with a team that simply wasn't good enough.

 

As I said, it's been a shocking window. All these loan deals might not be here come next year. Even though we have a fee in place, that doesn't mean the player has to agree personal terms.

3 of the 4 loans have option to buy

 

The loanees may turn out to be murder but there is next to no risk unlike Derk, Pukki, Balde who are brutal and cost us a fortune in Celtic financial terms. It is a way of limiting exposure and getting us through a transitional period. If only one works out bye bye to the others and buy the one that has worked out. If we loaned the above the three would have been gone after 6 months, I am not saying we should always do it this way but, and it is a big but, if there is a doubt they will settle due to nationality or not suited to the SPFL (Pukki) then it is a reasonable strategy the only thing that I don't quite get is how we are sure the Serbian is worth the initial outlay.

We are not a epl side and have to work very hard to get players to sign for us and it does drag stuff out longer than any of us like.

Im sure if we had the funds we could just go to a team and say how much...yeah no probs and then to the player...what do you want..aye no bother and bang its all done in a few days.

Its takes us weeks to get things done and in some cases it fails and we move on.
So maybe some player it looks like it took us 4 weeks to get we may have spent some of that time failing on some other deal.
Yet when you have loads of cash you can make a phone call and have ledley down and signed in a single day....must be nice.

The way we have crashed out of the CL imo is 50/50 with the manager and the players but im more * off with the players than the manager they have worked together long enough to give a lot more to the club in those games than they did regardless of what the manager asked of them it was by most of them * shocking.

It must also be pointed out in the PL interview he says that ronny wants to take his time and get it right.
Ronny has also said there will be players in this window and january window.
Those may be the main reasons why we have not moved more quickly in player signings.
