  1. I disagree entirely. The SPL was clearly of a higher standard in the late 90's & early 00's to what it is now, regardless of Deadco being there. SPL clubs could actually spend money and even the likes of Livingston had a few decent foreign players.

Zero factual basis? Do you think if we managed to secure someone of the same quality as Henrik (genuinely one of the world's top strikers at the time) we'd be able to reject ridiculous bids from down south these days? We apparently turned down £15m for Henrik, no matter who we have or will get in the near future we simply can't reject that sort of cash for anyone now, so it is a different situation as the financial landscape of our club has obviously changed.

Of course it's better to be at a great club at Celtic and become a cult hero like Henrik did, it's easy to say that as a fan but the likes of Van Dijk probably won't really be caring too much about that when he moves to the EPL in the Summer.

  2. Yes if the club are willing to sell him or he has freedom of contract. My point is that we should never see a summer where Wilson, Victor, and Hopper were all sold within weeks of each other. I am realistic and i know that some players will want to move on. 1 each window at an absolute maximum for me. Take VanDijk as an example. We could have sold him last season but we didnt. We got to keep him for another year. We will likely sell him next summer for at least the same amount of money. The club has a good bit of control if the players have a few years on their deals

Well said . Some need to hear of EPL interest in our player to affirm to them that he is indeed a good player.

  4. Stefan's Norway just got pumped 5-1 off Croatia. They were playing that Odegaard in CAM (I think?) and Johansen had been moved to CM. He's * terrible in CM for us as well so I'm nor surprised at the scoreline, absolutely daft from the Norwegian manager to move his best player and put a kid in that position.

  5. Odegaard is far too young to be starting for Norway. Johansen should be in CAM

  6. Just watched the game - we deserved to lose by a couple of goals but the scoreline flatters Croatia. Basically took every chance they got. Johansen did ok, but yeah would have been better further forward. The problem is the formation 4-4-1-1. I dont think we have the players for it

  7. Tbf that Croatia team has a lot of really good players.

  8. Høgmo is just too naive. Incidently our worst loss in a qualifying group for 30 years...

  9. He always plays further back for Norway does he not?

  10. Shat it when I seen this thread had been bumped in fear that he'd got injured :56:

    Hate international breaks :38:

  11. I'm going to fall out with Ronny if he plays him as a DM again.

I'd rather play Ambrose beside Denayer and put Virgil beside Broony before I would waste our best attacker in that role again.

As soon as he pushed forward our whole dimension changed, he was nipping at St Mirren defenders forcing them into mistakes, he was playing some great passes, he was all over the front 3 giving an out ball to whoever needed it.

Never ever ever play him in DM again Ronny, please.

  12. Was uncomfortable back there but luckily it isn't the norm, now.

  13. He done well in the bank of 2. Had a good game. Less eye catching but still played well

  14. He & Bitton are integral to how we play.

  15. POTY for me.

  16. Completely agree. He goes from being our most consistently effective player to extremely average when played further back.

  17. Brown is overlooked just because he's Brown. Johansen will win it.
