His value is what we would be willing to sell him for, we would not let him go for the figures you're suggesting therefore he's worth more.

We wouldn't entertain anyone for any less than 8 IMO. Norwegian POTY and one of their best current players with a ridiculous engine, superb vision, good passing and someone that will score goals. All that and he's just turned 24.

Norway and Scotland aren't good precursors for figuring out if a player can cut it in Spain for example.

We get big money when our players star in the CL.

Don't get me wrong, I will be * ecstatic should no one meet our valuation.

I honestly think the board would take £5m for Johansen.

Shoot me down or whatever, but he hasn't done it in the CL yet.

He is undeniably a cracking player and I'm not doubting his ability for a second, but until he performs consistently in the CL the way that both Wanyama and Forster did before him, then he won't be a £10m-£12m player.

If he wanted to go then maybe. No way would we force him out for 5 mill.

He could easily take the CL by storm next year and his value would rocket.

I would love for him to have a cracking CL campaign next season, along with the rest of our squad funnily enough, but then we would definitely need to resign ourselves to the fact that we would lose him next summer to a diddy EPL team once they come calling with Sky's millions.

State of the game now sadly dictates that even a club with the history, fanbase and sheer size of Celtic cannot compete financially with even the top Championship teams from down south.

Not a chance in * would we take £5m for him. Years left on his contract and he's one of our best players. No chance would £5 get him. We would probably start talking around £7m I think.

Norway coach Per Mathias Høgmo; 'Stefan Johansen is a player who'll be in England or Germany soon' Johansen's reply over next few tweets:

Johansen:'Can honestly say I love being there (Celtic). I'm only getting better & better and can't see any reason why I should look to move'.'Celtic is club surrounded by an enormous enthusiasm. It's like a dream come true for me'. 'Of course there might be a discussion to be had whether league is of a high enough standard, but I feel I'm becoming a better player by being there (at Celtic) and that's what is important to me now'

I personally think that the majority of English clubs would be too arrogant to offer £7m for him, based solely on his performances in Scotland and the occasional Europa League cameo.

Just my opinion though, I'd love to be wrong.

If we kept losing our players to nomarks in england for 8 figure sums then I would be * ecstatic.

It means we would be ripping it up in Europe nd giving us some great memories.

If those fuds down south want to throw obscene money at our players and that it matters more to them that they want to leave, then they are welcome to each other.

The money is great, but the lack of ambition and desire to win trophies from said players is the thing that irks me the most.

They aren't right for us if the moolah means more than the glory and adulation.

You might be right about what English clubs would be willing to offer but I can't see an offer of £5m or £6m taking him from us. Don't think we'd sell.

I agree with you, but trophies don't pay the bills or help fund the lavish lifestyle that most players desire :icon_mrgreen:

He is defos worth £7/8 million at least. He's been Norwegian player of the year two years in a row. If you Kev Kampls of the world go for that so is Stef.

"The reason why I’m doing so well now is that I enjoy where I am. I see no reason why I should change clubs. I’m at a club that will win trophies, who have the ambition to play in Europe."

    Love this guy

He doesn't strike me as the type of player who will be wanting away, nor does he strike me as the kind of player EPL clubs will go daft for.

That's not to say he isn't a cracking footballer, just their arrogance IMO.

He's probably my favourite player to be honest, still makes me cringe looking back at some of the comments from around August/September when he was struggling a bit. If you ever need a chuckle, take a look.
