Actually looking forward to seeing how we'll cope without him tonight, we'll need to adapt to not having his energy but we do have a lot of firepower to play behind the main striker.

I agree mate, think it will be interesting. If young Henderson gets the nod we've seen enough of him to know that he has the energy to make runs and get in and about the opponents penalty area.

I'm not. He is massive loss, and I think that will be very noticeable tonight.

Ronny Deila admits it will be tough to keep Stefan Johansen at Celtic this summer but hopes the midfielder will turn down the lure of a move to the English Premier League.

The 24-year-old is likely to be a contender for Player of the Year after playing a starring role during Deila’s first season in Scotland.

Johansen played under Deila at Stromsgodset in his homeland before making the move to Glasgow in January 2014 and his boss believes the Norwegian international is good enough to feature in England’s top flight.

Speaking to Norwegian station TV2 in Marbella, Deila was asked how long he could keep the player at Celtic Park.

He said: "It’s clear it’s difficult. He is good enough to play in the Premier League but then it is a question of whether he wants it.

"I think Stefan is very fond of Celtic and it’s a much bigger club to play for than for example West Bromwich.

"Stefan made a wise choice when he chose to go to Celtic. Here he is allowed to develop, not least physically. He has been playing regularly at a high level."

Johansen also spoke to TV2 to express his happiness in Glasgow, adding he’s not thinking about a summer transfer.

He said: "The reason why I’m doing so well now is that I enjoy where I am. I see no reason why I should change clubs. I’m at a club that will win trophies, who have the ambition to play in Europe."

Johansen ready for greater challenges says Norwegian National Team Coach, Per Høgmo
"It is going to happen, it is just a question of time".

Johansen has no plans to leave Celtic as of yet. "I love it at Celtic, and I am improving every day. I see no point playing somewhere else. You journalists speculate a lot on what I am going to do, but I am at a club where I enjoy my football. Celtic is a club that strives to win trophies, and I like it."

It's starting already, then Virgil again.. And again, then bitton and whoever else is dominating our game..

I thought Johansen's reply was brilliant, so was Ronny's :56:

I've not had that inclination or feeling from Johansen once, that he'll be wanting off over the next couple of years at least, not an inch..

The funny thing is, in their desperation to remove them from the Scottish game, the media actually talk our players up so much that we end up getting a good price from them and move further away from their precious sevco anyway. :smiley-laughing002:

Don't think Johansen is the kind of player who'll want away. He didn't do it at Strømsgodset either. He'll obviously consider it if someone comes in for him but I don't think he'll have his agent out there trying to find an English club for him.

    5/6 mill maybe.

He hasn't done it in the CL like Wanyama and Forster yet, that adds the zeros.

I would agree with that. His quotes in the Norwegian media suggest the same. At the end of the day though, money talks. I'd presume West Brom could offer more, despite being a smaller club etc etc. He seems genuinely happy at Celtic however.
