What I don't get though, when Deila arrived, everyone assumed he would implement the same tactics as he did at Stromsgodset. Now, I didn't ever see them play when Deila was in charge so I can't say if he has been or not since coming here. Johansen's performances in Deila's system at Stromsgodset were what made us sign him in the first place, so what is different from what Deila done at his last club, and what he is doing now.

I actually am confused as to what it is Deila's actually trying to implement (apart from the obvious fact that he hasn't managed to do so yet).

Could it be that our players simply aren't grasping what he wants them to do? Or are some not playing for him? Surely the tactics he is trying to implement here are the ones that got him the job to begin with, and the ones he was successful with.

Packed defences maybe? Not settled in to what we are trying to achieve, after all it took him 3 years at Stormgodset.

It's a different league, you can't try and make a carbon copy of what you have done previously, I keep using this word with Ronny but he needs to show he can adapt.

I actually like a 4-2-3-1 formation, mainly because of the versatility of it, but we just can't seem to grasp it, or maybe don't have the players to play it. The way I've heard some of our fans are talking, you would think we are the first team in world football to attempt this weird and wonderful tactic :smiley-laughing002:

It's the way we are playing it. A lot of the time it's like 2-4-4 but with our players not getting close to each other. Tge key to the formation is to support the individuals around you, we've not saw a lot of that.

I said the other night compare the way Scotland is playing the same formation, all players are offering support to those around them, whether that is going forward or back. Not often have we saw players get beyond or close to the main striker.

Is it the way we are playing it, or are our players just not understanding it though? This is a formation which has been successful for Deila in the past, so he obviously understands what is required for it to work.

Or maybe the room afforded in Norwegian football makes the way we are currently playing it the optimum way. I tend to go with it's the way Deila wants it because regardless of who has been playing it, and we've saw a lot of rotation, the system has stayed the same.

I can't comment on the part about Norwegian football as I haven't seen much, if any of it in recent times.

I genuinely feel as if he is bearing the brunt of the anger towards poor results as a whole. I can't fathom where the abuse is coming from otherwise, even when his passing is slack which it will be from time to time due to the fact he attempts things he ALWAYS gives his last drop of energy.

I find him extremely refreshing, a technically gifted player that actually gives his all.

I've thought this as well, I think it comes from how brilliant he looked last year though. He was genuinely excellent in that 6 month spell, now people are lashing out because he's not been the same when the team in general have been gash.

*'s sake - he's had an ok game for Norway and suddenly all the fanboys are jumping on his * again. I just don't get it. He's bearing the brunt of my anger because he's been * woeful this season. Embarrassing. And yet for some reason he never gets dropped.

Our midfield needs some serious muscle, a tough tackling ball winner who can boss a game. Johansen and Brown got bullied twice against Aberdeen last season, bossed about against St Mirren, just too lightweight in general.

Johansen has been a headless chicken this season, he can sometimes pick a lovely pass, but heard people comparing him with Ledley, not a * chance. Ledley is twice the player.

He's having a blinder. I've been one of his critics this season and so fairs fair, IF he plays consistently like this from now on I'll eat humble pie.

This is what he can do given the licence to get forward. Can't overstate how good he's been here.

At least 5 defence splitting passes in that first half, exactly what we have been missing for a long time.

Pure *, not curling his shot into the top corner and allowing it to be cleared off the line :fear:
