Stefan johansen has been here 5 minutes, Joe Ledley is a multiple title winner and certified hunskelper.

He is also an integral part of the team that reached the last 16.

You live in the here and now, that is why you fail to be objective and look at the bigger picture.

Stefan Johansen at this moment in time can't lace Ledley's boots, he has done nothing in a Celtic shirt that Joe Ledley hasn't done in his sleep.

    It's as simple as that.

I'm sorry mate but what does Joe Ledley's achievements at Celtic have to do with physically comparing each player when watching them?

I said that I think Johansen is the much better play of the two, not that he is the better winner.

    your initial quote.

He is not "twice the player of Ledley", how can anyone possibly make that call after a few games?

"Offers so much more overall for Celtic"

No he doesn't, Ledley has far exceeded him so far in a Celtic shirt.

Joe Ledley should take note, don't be such a great positional player and do things simply. Run at 100 miles and hour and career into tackles because that's what gets you noticed, apparently.

    Lotta pish.

Johansen very well might go on to be a better player than Ledley but I'll say it again, at the moment he can't even lace his boots.

Ledley is our top scoring midfielder since Stillian Petrov, a big game player, a guy who marked Xavi out of a game at Celtic Park and was an integral part of a very successful Celtic team.

If Johansen gets to that stage I'll be surprised, I think he looks like he has the skills going forward and could be a frightening midfielder for us bit I think they offered different things.

I think Lenny had hoped he'd have Ledley and Johansen, not Ledley or Johansen.

I think he will be better than Ledley, has more to his game, John Collins said it last night and i agreed with him.

"Plus, they now have Stefan Johansen, who I think will turn out to be a better player than Ledley, even though Ledley is a top player."

"He has a good range of passing in midfield and a real nasty steak about him where he digs in, while he also presses the game well and allows the players in front of him - Kris Commons, Anthony Stokes, and Leigh Griffiths - to express themselves."

"Add the fact he can get in the box and score goals himself and he is a quality addition."

Neil McCann of all people, can also see it.

Neil McCann quite literally described Joe Ledley's contribution in a Celtic Jersey in that whole middle section.....

You are right mate. The middle part of that post actually sums up Ledley perfectly in my opinion.

He seems very one sided as well in my opinion. Which isn't a major problem. The best player in the world is very one footed also.

Playing his way to becoming a very important player for us already; always working off the ball and very classy on it.

Hopefully he continues to chip in with the goals as well, we've missed a player scoring bucketloads from centre mid since probably Burley. Even Petrov, who was excellent at timing runs into the box, didn't score that many.

Lets stop with the Ledley comparisons. It's disrespectful to Joe, who achieved a lot here and it's unfair on Stefan, who has just walked in the door.

    Agreed..

We shoudln't always have to automatically compare players who leave and were succesful with ones we have only just got in the door that as it happens play in the same position..

Ledley was a fantastic player, johansen is just starting out but the early signs are he can possibly very quickly turn into a great piece of buisness and be a big hit!

Is it me,or has he lost his jazz after getting a haircut?
Since the chop he doesn't seem as sharp as before...bit of a Sampson ( his hair held his power until his missus cut it).

Good player central to RD's vision, hope to see great things from him.
