Stefan Johansen

Discussion in 'Ex Players' started by SloBhoy, Jan 15, 2014.

  1. Yeah it feels almost defeatist however I'm the same, I don't doubt the toxic environment he was playing in helped, the fans were nothing short of abysmal in regards to him - of course that would only have hindered his confidence.

Best for both parties just to part ways now. Thanks for the good times Stefan!

  2. All good points.

He set up the two goals which made it 2-0 against Malmo. :56:

  5. This is true, he also set up the goal away at Maribor for McGregor :smiley-laughing002:

However, those were two crucial moments in those ties that would have most likely seen us through on both occasions pocketing about £40M in the process, in saying that it would have meant most likely Ronny would still be here as well :56:.

  6. Kind of sums up Deila's reign as well, nothing quite went for us in the big games.

'All good points' which ignore other glaringly obvious points.

Such as his great lofted ball over the top away to Maribor which found Berget and led to McGregor's goal.

Lets just forget all the good things though and post * that suits our own agenda.

  8. I mentioned he set up the Maribor goal, I'll also throw in his cross against Sevco as well for Griffiths.

In the main though, he's been one of the most frustrating players to watch in a Celtic jersey, whilst also keeping out players deserving the run of games he had to prove themselves when he proved himself to be a lost cause after a long series of ineffective games under Ronny.

Hope Bitton is alright though, there was once a group of Bitton, Johansen, Guidetti, Denayer and Van Dijk that were all good mates with each other even travelling together for trips away with their wives/girlfriends etc. Now only Bitton remains from that group, I know he's pretty friendly with Bailly though so I'm sure he'll be alright he's a big bhoy.

  9. Quite sure he put the ball into griffiths for our first against Malmo. Then put in the corner for Bitton.

Apologies already said but still he definitely wasn't the reason we've had no cl football in two years.

  10. One season wonder, I can't wait to see the back of him.

He did. Yet it's his fault we didn't qualify as he failed to give us a 3 goal lead instead of a 2 goal lead...

In fairness though, one thing that did annoy me about Johansen in that game was his carry on before the corner which led to Malmo's second away goal. Disrupted play unnecessarily and who knows if they'd have scored from the corner if he didn't..

  12. I just watched the highlights there of it and yes it was definitely his biggest fault in the game but the actual goal wasn't his fault by no means. It was the two players getting beat in the air by one Malmo man that knocked jt down to berget who that can be blamed upon.

Don't forget he also deliberately blocked Van Dijk's header off the line.

    No, really. He did.

Ronny should never have played him after that. That's when he lost the support IMO.

  15. When was that?

    Away against Maribor. 1st leg.

  17. You talk some amount of pish.

There's no acting like he played a bit part role in his Celtic career, he was completely fundamental in our Europa league run and begrudging him for Van Dijks header in Maribor is idiotic.

This full Ronny patter is ludicrous and only used to push a certain agenda, I'll think you'll find every member of our midfield was ineffective bar Mcgregor.

  18. He is injured, out for 2/3 weeks...
    :shamrock:

  19. *, hope Gala still are mental enough to push the transfer through

  20. Its a bit of a blessing in disguise. Even in the friendlies he's not looked confident. Energetic sure, but hi passing is still off and he looks a bit scared of taking possession. McGregor has been the opposite, good, simple, quick passing and willing to run and carry the ball too. I really want him in and playing regularly. Think he's found his position.

Good luck to Stefan, hope he recovers and gets his move away. He's a good player, but need to recover his form. Would rather he did it on someone else's wage bill. Especially when we have talent in abundance being held back while he does.
