Ring of truth about it.Johansen was never gold dust and never will be in my opinion.

I would sell too, as it appears to me he dozen't want to be here anymore, especially since Ronny departed. We have better and more disciplined midfielders onboard to rely on, like Rogic, McGregor, Henderson, Allan etc all willing to bust a gut to impress.
Johansen is the type of player who is petulant and with a petted lip when things go against him, and he is also capable of reckless shocking tackles.

Fair point, but in recent euro history theres very few who you could say stood up to be counted in big games.

WE've been atrocious across the board in europe for a while now. cant really lay that at Stefs feet alone.

His pressing is the best part of his game, if he's not up for it he's useless as he's technically not a good player. I'd keep him until at least January if we don't get a decent offer for him though could do well in this team

Their no doubt he get it positions but it's the fact he scuffs the easiest of chances wide at points when it matters we have him brown and Bitton in the team same point at times and people wonder why only Griffiths scores .....because those three don't offer any danger scoring wise brown shooting atrocious Bitton never in a position to score and Johansen bottles it in front of goal

GALATASARAY are set to step up their £1.5m bid to sign Celtic midfielder Stefan Johansen this week.
According to reports in Turkey, the Süper Lig side are sending Director of Football Cenk Ergun to Scotland this week to tie up the deal for the Norwegian as part of a triple swoop.

I think we should get him off the books, sell to Galatasaray and get Rogic on the kind of contract he deserves. Punt Shoodurs aswell and we're making a start at sorting out the midfielder issues.

Stefan Johansen faces a scan this morning on an ankle injured in the warm-up — and then aggravated sufficiently to require his early substitution, causing some doubt over his fitness for Tuesday's Champions League qualifier.

'Stefan is fine,' said Rodgers. 'We're sending him for a scan in the morning. It's a precaution. He felt his ankle in warm-up. There was nothing in training yesterday. We'll see how he is in the morning.'

Talking to my dad earlier on and we both agreed that our entire midfield could and probably should be replaced i.e. Brown, Bitton and Johansen. Or really in Brown's case, not played so much.

Quite a sad state of affairs when none of them are doing the business.

I'm disappointed Brendan's taken to him it seems atm, sure he may be one of the more 'experienced' members of the squad in terms of how much he's played over last couple years. But as Brendan has already said, if a 17 year old is showing more ability than a 27 year old senior professional in the same position, then the 17 year old plays.

So, no matter if guys like Johansen, Brown etc have experience it should be more about what they bring to the team when they play that's the most important.

Johansen has played the same way he did last season, full of running and energy, but again making silly needless fouls, being poor in possession, barely creating or opening up defences with good passes and being very poor in front of goal. He's keeping out better players in the team and for the good of the team he should move on. Can't describe how much I dislike seeing him in the starting 11 at the expense of a Rogic/McGregor or even Allan to see what he can bring instead.
