Deila gave Pukki the captaincy a few times in his first pre-season. He was gone a little over 2-3 weeks later...

Again, I think this is another bit of BR showing how he handles players and transfer talk. I think the guy has too much class to go out and say "Well ww got a bid and he * off whenever he wants too". He might like Johansen but he understands with the size of our squad and our contract situation and with SJ not being a massive loss, he'll be fine with him leaving. This is just a matter of not throwing his team under the bus in the media.

I'd keep Johansen. Really good player but needs to fight for his place.

Yet he still had the armband.
A player going out the door at this stage should not be playing. Rodgers is trying to get the best 11 he can for CL game. If Johansen is leaving, why play him? Why get him fit?
    Just asking the obvious chaps

Would take 1.5m for him. Minimal loss for a year left

This. All in all a profit for a player we bought for less. Only players with desire and who want to be here should wear the shirt. Great for a season, but the decline last season was inexcusable.

That wouldn't be a profit though that would be a loss, we paid £2M for him. We should be trying to squeeze out £3M for him and send him on his way.

Ah my mistake, I thought we had paid around £1m for him.
In any case, do we keep him and run the risk of losing him on a bosman in which time he may continue to look disinterested, or do we take the hit?
Hoefully the new Rodgers era will motivate him again.

If he doesn't looked interested in being here then get him to *, £1.5 mil for someone who has been * for a year, doesn't wanna be here and only has one year left on his contract is pretty good. Saving the money we would be soending on his wages as well.

Is this the time? When you need a CRACKING 11 who want to do the job, you need 100% trust and loyalty to win an important game, to play players to sell them? And give them captains armband at all? I would be very surprised buddy. £2M or whatever we get, if he is sold is NOTHING compared to the 10's of Millions for group stage Champios League

Maybe Rodgers can see a GOOD PLAYER in there and is reaching out to Johansen and for all we know Rodgers might offer him a year or 2 to prove himself, because we know when Johansen is flowing he is GOLD DUST. Maybe Rodgers thinks he can reclaim this by helping Johansen? We know this is how Rodgers works, I am just speculating as nobody really has a clue, lol

Just read the latest ETims Diary and it claimed Johansen has a diabetic condition which may be why teams aren't bidding as much? Thought it was only Scott Allan who had this? Just getting the players mixed up maybe?

They post some amount of *. All guesswork.

Half that page is about Rangers. I don't trust Celtic fans who talk about them all the time.

There wouldnt be a better time to sell him than now.
How does he warrant your 100% trust and loyalty given how badly he went missing last season? how is this season any more important than when we were in a similar position last year? would you jeopordise those many millions the group stages would bring by playing him given his most recent form?
Wanyama was gold dust. Van djik was too. Johansen isnt. and at the very moment, id rather have Macgregor in there than Johansen.
Sell him now, buy time to bring in a replacement (preferably a box to box mid as we are over complimented with attacking mids) and give them time to adapt before the tougher qualifiers and games. we have plenty friendlies left to provide time to adapt.

I know, it's awful. Some folk write in there more than in Celtic chat.

Not that I feel the need to defend it, but nothing appears in the Etims diary that hasn't come from a fairly reliable, if occasionally drunk, source.

And as for writing about "rangers ", you need to remember what a solid gold source of comedy that lot are.
