I believe Brendan would like keep him, after all he looks to be one of those players who would absolutely fit in to his tactics.

Thing is that Johansen had a really, really poor season, so offering him a new contract can be tricky. I'd be best for both parties if he signed a new contract and have a good season, that means that we could sell him for serious money in the summer of 2017 and he'd get a good transfer, because he doesn't strike me as somebody who's eager to stay here.

Aye if he can get back to his best Rodgers will love him. Just needs to be more composed on the ball.

I just don't get what happened to him under Ronny. He credited Ronny for developing his game immensely, then totally went to pot last year..

Interesting that Rodgers mentioned Johansen likes the way he works. I wonder if him and Ronny had a fall out, or did Johansen feel pressured under Ronny when it was going so wrong at the top?

Really is interesting seeing who comes back firing this season..

I hope he does recapture that 3-4 month spell when he was at it..

I'd punt Johansen and keep Henderson. I think he and McGregor have a good understanding and could really flourish together. Stefan is undoubtably a good player, but i'm worried he'll always be reaching for form rather than just doing the business. It'll be hard to shake off last season's poor performance. Even with a new manager, not sure how confident his teammates will be in him.

That being said, it's probably a little too early to be casting these guys adrift. Suppose it's maybe worth holding onto him for a wee while longer. Let him play a few more preseason games, maybe see how he fares in the qualifiers. Give him a chance. If he hasn't shown a massive step up by then, then its time to move him on. As good as he might be, we may have to accept it won't be with us that he rediscovers how to play football

As much as I rate McGregor and the way he's flourished. I'd be alarmed if we started letting Johansen and Bitton go, despite being poor for most, or large chunks of last year, both are European and International class.....

I trust in Rodgers but it'd be alarming and the timing definitely would. We must have some calibre of player's rolling up..

Would haggle for a bit more, try and get what we paid for him at least because Gala most definitely have the money. But we'd be hard pushed after the season he had last year with one year left on his contract to be getting £3M+. If we can get between £2-2.5M for him then let him leave with best wishes.

Whilst he brings great energy and tenacity on the field when on form harassing the opposition tirelessly he can have his impact(All attributes a Brendan side looks for). Would also wager he's the most athletic and fittest player we have, one of those players you just know could run all day as he is a tremendous athlete tbf.

However, he still has erratic passing and his finishing capability in front of goal leaves a lot to be desired at times. His 1v1s with the GK can be infuriating as well how often he doesn't bury it. He is also someone that has developed a tendency to foul opposition unnecessarily often gifting free kicks in dangerous positions and turned into a bit of a plastic hard man. His expressions most of last season told me he doesn't want to be here anymore, I say let him leave.

In saying that you'd have to be crazy to want to go to Turkey in the current climate regardless of how much money you're getting. Even a trip to the local shops would carry a fear.

£1m isn't enough for Johansen. As poor as he was last season, we should be pushing for nearly treble that.

He's not as bad as he was last season, but he's also not as good as he was the season before. If we use that money to re-invest in the midfield, I'd be quite happy.

For me McGregor has just as much tenacity and energy - perhaps not as much stamina - but also is better at passing, dribbling and finishing. Neither are gifted in the tackle - but they don't need to be, its more about harassing the opponent into making a mistake.

I just don't have as much confidence in his basic control and passing. Under pressure it just goes to * meaning we lose possession. So what is his game then? Running around winning and then losing possession over and over? Like i said before, he needs to show something this preseason, otherwise i'd bite the hand off a 1m offer.

Swing it round the other way, if a Norwegian regular, former Norwegian and Scottish POTY was available for a million quid we'd be bananas not to be interested.

He is worth many times more, even with a year left on his contract. We should be doing everything we can to extend it, if it doesn't work out next season he's worth at the very least 5 or 6 million to us.

We should be looking for about £3 million. Galatasaray will have plenty of money to spend.

He's on the last year of his contract so we're not going to get loads.
