I don't want him to go.

Would like him to be given another chance if he is willing. More suited to Rodgers style than most of the 10million midfielders we currently have, in all honesty.

I know Rodgers has been bigging up Brown but, as I've said before, on paper the perfect midfield 3 of players currently here is:

    Johansen Armstrong
    Bitton

Ideally, I'd want the holding player to be more aggressive and better defensively.

I'd agree however McGregor would be in there for me as he has a bit more guile and offers more goals than the other 2.

Armstrong is suited on paper though with his high tempo style. Callum wouldn't be out of my starting XI as it stands though and I think he will suit Rodgers in terms of keeping play ticking over.

It's harsh on McGregor, and I know he's younger than Armstrong, but I think Stuart has far more potential and when both are at their best - Armstrong is the better player.

For me, the key is the left wing position. If we can sign someone who will chip in with plenty of goals (Elyounoussi hopefully), there will be less pressure on the midfield runners to contribute with goals.

In saying that, Armstrong knows how to find the back of the net, judging by his record at United.

Can someone tell me what Armstrong has ever done to be put ahead of any of other midfielders never mind in the starting eleven, please?

He was superb for Norway tonight.

Folk need to get off his back before we help push a class player out the door. He himself is well aware he's become a whipping boy. Not good.

Guy clearly has ability I think that season he wasn't at his best and all that Ronny's blue eyed boy * was floating about and gathering pace among fans and sometimes when the negativity comes in its hard to shake off, the guy was class for Norway again tonight and was class for us whn he got player of the season he is someone with ability and he deserves a chance to shine under Rodgers.

Last two games of this season he was class as well albeit his mistake against St Johnstone which was more to do with the bobbly pitch imo Motherwell at home was exceptional in the deep lying position I really dislike to see him in.

He was poor for the vast majority of the season but I was embarrassed looking at some of the treatment of him on Twitter etc.

Folk turned on him pretty quick which I found strange. Fair enough not rating a player but some of the comments were way over the top.

If every Celtic player was playing to the best of their ability, Johansen would be in our first team and he would be a key player for us as well. He is capable of a lot. His standards dropped noticably this past season but you could honestly say that about any Celtic player not named Sviatchenko, Tierney or Griffiths. Hopefully Johansen will get back to his normal game next season.

And I wonder why that was. You could claim it was because of Deila, but surely Johansen would not succumb to that. He was a Deila guy before he was a Celtic guy, after all.

Because Ronny wasn't a good manager for that and made increasingly bizarre decisions. That's just about the long and short of it.

No idea. Sometimes players just have an off season. Players are also more likely to have an off season when the team as a whole is struggling and I would say Celtic struggled for long spells last season.

But really? He was great during Ronny's first season. Something happened in the second season to the whole team, but if it was mutiny, why would Johansen be part of it? By all accounts, Deila was integral to Johansen turning his career around,

Nah, it wasn't. The last 3 months or so was great, when Denayer and Van Dijk fully clicked.

It wasn't mutiny, it was a poor manager.

Yes they were over the top but thats what happens when managers continue to play their favourites even when they are way off form, Lennon did it with a fair few especially Forrest even calling him world class at one point, its not really the players fault hopefully a good pre season will sort him, but after seeing a couple of his interviews i reckon he has made up his mind to go

Too far though in a lot of cases as I said, wouldn't exactly help get his confidence back:smiley-laughing002:

People are still commenting continually under every instagram post, Twitter post etc. Just give it a break, man. Dunno how these people have the energy.
