I'm not saying he wouldn't get into our current * team. But some of the players you didn't mention are probably better ability wise or will become better next season. (Svitchenko and Rogic).

I edited my post to add Sviatchenko and KT in as being as good as him amd forgot Rogic who is becoming a good player but Ledleys a far more consistent, reliable player.

At this point I'd have him back. He has experience in the CL and a better option than Johansen and Brown in the middle. I just don't have a big hard on for him as many seem to have. I don't think he'll be back though.

Can't really compare them though, Johansen is best playing no.10 pressing high up and supporting the attack.

When he gets dropped deeper in midfield he gets lost, runs about like a mad man and spends too much time trying to be an enforcer instead of playing smart covering the spaces.

When Brown was out the team, McGregor and Johansen were playing very well together and in the different combinations, soon as McGregor was out the team it all went downhill for him and the team.

I wish we still had Ledley too, even over Brown.

I'd be glad to see him leave tbh, never taken to him, even last season I wasn't crazy about him like some were.

Get a few million back and recruit someone with consistency and a bit of bottle.

People saying "it'll free up funds" well I'd like some guarantees if I was the new gaffer before selling off players.

Say we got £6m for him I doubt we'd see that re-invested. At least all of it, anyway.

If anyone is daft enough to give us £6 million for him that is :smiley-laughing002:, he really needs taken out the team for his own good because i sense the fans starting to turn on him a bit

If I can say what I want then you're full of * if you didn't think Ledley was a good player. In his position, he has been the best player in about the last 10 years :icon_mrgreen:

    No offence bud.

We paid around £2.5m mate so I reckon we will look for £5-6m and I could easily see us getting that.

Aye, the fans have been turning on him since September:smiley-laughing002:

This summer there's absolutely no chance of £5-6million. A guy who has struggled against Scottish teams all season isn't going to be a guy in demand down south.

Any whiff of a profit and I'd sell. If you're playing him it needs be as a no.10 and in current form I'd have Rogic, Commons and McGregor all ahead of him.

    We shall see.

It's not down south where the interest is either, we don't have to rely on England.

I'm not even sure we could get someone to buy him in his current form never mind making a profit

    Probably not tomorrow.

We could still turn him into a player worth £4-5 million, IMO.

We're not creative enough for my liking in the transfer market and are too desperate for 'cash now'.

We are always getting low balled in the transfer market because it's a big risk to an EPL club to take our players.

Now I fully appreciate that there are certain factors against the likes of this happening, but how much would we have gotten for Wanyama and Van * if we had loaned them out to Southampton for a year?

Would they even still be at Southampton if that were the case?

My point is that maybe we should take a punt and loan out our sellable players for a season to an EPL club and see if it gets us more money.

Our risk averse board never seem to look at this.

    Just a thought.

It can not be overstated the amount of damage this man has done our team this season . Ronny didn't learn .

In either of those scenarios they'd be coming back with 12 months on their contract with the option to sign on a pre-contract in 6, hardly a strong bargaining position. Add in the fact they probably at the very least doubled the wages they were on.

That's not taking into account the risk of them picking up a long-term injury or bad form.

Loan players are generally always young players/those on the fringes of a parent club for a reason.

I would take £3million for him. He has hidden in every big game we have had.
