Being marginally better than * isn't something to be commended for though. Personally I thought Allan played better than him - still not upto the required level but understandable considering his lack of game time.

Interesting stat I picked up earlier. Johansen has missed 5 home games this season and four of them:

    0-0 Dundee
    0-0 Kilmarnock
    0-0 hearts
    1-2 Motherwell

I mentioned similar before, he is getting a lot of slack when most of the time he is the only one * trying and busting a gut, him and Tierney. When he plays in the number 10 i think we are a better team tbh

We missed his energy and pressing last night big time. He may play poorly at times but he really quickens our play by attempting different passes.

Aye he does quicken our players, the defenders are scurrying to get back into position after Stefan has put an outside-of-the-boot, crossfield pass straight onto the toe of an opposition player.

I get that people are * off and might be looking to find common denominators but stats don't tell the whole story.

To try and link Stefan as some kind of lynchpin of the team that we struggle without is clutching at straws. He's also been missing in some of our best performances this season. His energy was missed last night but we should also be getting an end product with that energy - which this season alone has been glaringly missing from his play.

As I said earlier in the thread, being marginally better than * isn't something to be commended for. Let's raise the bar a bit higher.

His true ability is somewhere in between what we saw last season and what we're seeing this season.

If he kept his passing simple, was smarter with his pressing and started running beyond the strikers again he'd be a valuable player.
He is currently trying to make hollywood passes, and chase everyone around the pitch. The problem is that when neither works, he tends to make silly fouls and pick up daft bookings. It might be that he's just trying to show us that he is 'committed'.

Why was Johansen not even on the bench last night? Was he suspended or injured. For me while he has not been anywhere near the highs of last season in the recent games when he has played the number 10 role he has at least been very busy and worked his socks off. Certainly hope he wasn't droped as for me his willingness to work hard for the team is exactly what we needed last night.

Should have been dropped way back in September when his performances were really dire, we're now in March and his performances are much the same, absolutely pish !!!

Energy he brings is outstanding, gutted to see him get injured, I think the stick he has received has been beyond just basic criticism and totally disgraceful. When he is on his game he really keeps us ticking.

Me too. There are people commenting that they are glad he is injured on Celtics twitter page. Disgraceful. Absolute morons to be happy one of our players is injured.

Ye can say a lot about Johansen but he never hides and always works his * off, off the ball.

Played really well before his injury, involved in almost everything.
I think he has been playing pretty recently. Imo he is our best midfielder.
Hope is not out for to long
