I think we should sell. Theres defo a talented player in there but he is nowhere near consistant enough to hold down a place here. Infact he would have been out the team a lot earlier if it wasnt for a manager who believes in him.

£5m seems a fair price. I really like Stefan, but he's been dyer all season barring the last 2 or games. We'd be lucky to get more than £5m imo.

    * this. At his best he's worth more. As he is just now he's not worth £5m.

But the squad won't see a penny of it either way.

    Keep.

We need to be buying players able to play in the bank of two not selling them.

If we can get him back on form then he is worth more than 5 mill anyway.

I have a feeling he wants to leave though.

Depends if he fancies playing Championship football next season.

I hope he stays, but I'm not going to be crying into my cornflakes if he goes.

    How do you know that?

Could free up money to go in for Ely.
Makes way for that Croat midfielder and Ajer possibly.

I have a feeling that he is spitting the dummy because he didnt get a move in the summer, that's why he has been poor this season.

He is a rare player, as a hard working number 10 he was very good and worth to us more than 5m, that wont be spent anyway.

At the same time I have doubts that he will ever show the form he did last season ever again.

    I am conflicted.

I normally dont want to sell our players but those players were hard to replace. Johanson can be replaced. I wouldnt even have him in the first eleven as it is.

I would hope Celtic try to keep him. He hasn't had the best of seasons but we want a strong squad filled with international class players. Also, 5m is too low I would say 7m is more realistic given the inflated nature of transfer fees down South. If Naismith is going for 8m I would rank Johansen of a similar level. But I hope he does stay.

Because history tells us this is the case.

We spend around the same amount regardless of transfer fees or Champions League football.

I'm surprised at the amount of people wanting to cash in. Look how * commons was in the 2011-12 season only scored 1 goal the entire season, then how he turned out. I'd keep him.

Commons the only midfielder where goals are the metric of measurement. His assists were good and his overall play was good that season.

Aye goals aren't the only measurement but I can remember commons was gash that season he even got dropped for a while did he not? Also he ducked up a penalty against st Johnstone I'm sure to lose the game and got sent off against hearts in which we lost 2-0 he wasn't good that season.

Agreed, Commons still contributed during that season. Johansen for me has been a passenger all year.

I believe that Forrest was keeping him out for a period yes but overall he had a good season, just his goal rate dropped dramatically. I also believe he was going through personal problems at the time. Give me the Commons of that season over the Armstrong of any season thus far.

I would prefer to keep him and If he wants to stay we should keep him but if he wants out sell him, simple as that really.

I agree with that mate. He has been rotten. His passing has been shocking, and he gives away far too many stupid fouls, picking up silly yellows more often than not in the process. His best position is in the number 10 role, and right now, that belongs to Rogic in my opinion. Deila has not had to make a big decision on Johansen yet really though, because with Brown being out, he has managed to keep his place in the team in the holding role.

One of our few experienced midfielders in our young team..POTY and an internationalist.

Doesn't make sense to move him on..was excellent v Malmo at home(although did miss a good chance to make it 3-0) and Ajax away..has proved he can perform in Europe..

    Still has lots to offer.

Not sure what to make of this, if we look at him as last season's player of the year, how hard he worked in the team and the goals he chipped in with, I'd tell them to * off with their 5m.

But his form this season, and even if he was playing better, with the amount of competition for places we have in midfield at the moment I think there has to be a bit of a thinning of the herd anyway, so why not someone we can get a half decent fee for?

    I don't know.

Puts me in mind of Ki a bit, a player I liked and would have preferred stayed, but at the time when he moved on it was for decent money and we still had Ledley/Kayal/Brown/Wanayama as CM options so it didn't really impact the overall strength of the squad.

Cash in. Been out of form far longer than he's been in it since he joined.

I really want him to stay, still one of my favourite players no doubt about that. However 18months to go on his contract, tom rogic in sterling form, scott allan looking a real player, 5 million might actually be a reasonable deal for us. I could reconcile myself to his leaving although i dont want it to happen.
