If we're being honest, he's only really been great for a few months in his time here. When he first joined, he played well enough but nothing spectacular.

The first few months of last season he was * poor and plenty of people on here wanted him dropped. Then from around November to February/March he played his best stuff here and was popping up with goals regularly. But then again his form dipped until the end of the season, and we all know about this season so far.

There's a good player in there of course but we haven't seen it enough. I honestly don't think he'd be missed. You can say his running is a boost, and it is the best part of his game, but half the time he runs about like a headless chicken fouling people.

I'd prefer keep him if he wants to stay.
I know his form has been poor most of the season but we all know there is a good player in there, he was the best player in the league last year. He has also put in big shifts for us in Europe so if he can find his form again, he'd be like a new signing for us.

However, if he wants away or if his head isn't fully at Celtic, then it would be madness not to cash in on him. It's not like we are short in that position anyway.
Basically comes down to where Johansen's head is at.

5million is too low though, I'd like us to get 7 or 8million for him.

No he has not , he has been the same . Folk on here have been clutching at straws trying to talk up his recent performances but in reality they have been the same sub standard pish we have seen from him all year.

5 million quid would be a fine piece of business , i can not stand having a player in the side who gives the ball away a dozen times a match . Been doing my * nut all year , no excuse for it.

Almost word for word the point i made in his own thread. He was poor in his first season and people said he was settling in . He was drastically bad before christmas last season and people were saying Ronny needs to get rid of him ASAP. He hit a purple patch of form during Feb and March and was then utterly useless in the post split fixtures ( i was told on here it was down to tiredness)
He has also been * for 6 months of this season .

We have seen 2-3 good months out of the 30 he has been here.

I think 5 mil is a good fee for him. If he was playing like he was last year, no way. But with his continued poor play and continued form of Rogic, Commons, Allan, and possibly another winger coming which could move Armstrong and Mcgregor into the centre, I wouldn't be 100% against this.

Armstrong a lot better through the mid than on the wing and we've still got Henderson to come back, others have citied Europe but he is one of many headless chickens that have been to the detriment of the mid. I genuinely don't think we'd miss him.

5 million is a good bit of business in my opinion for an inconistant player with only 18 months left on his contract. We currently have plenty of players who can play in the number 10 role and with this money we can strengthen on the wing ie. Elyounoussi

i would sell him for 6 million, 10 milllion if they stay up, or 2 million if they make it back to the premier league at the first attempt.

I think £5m is a bit low. If it was between £7-8m though, I would bite their hand off. He wouldn't be a miss just now. In fact, we benefit from having him out the team with the form he is in.

If he consistently played to his capabilities £5million would be nowhere near enough; sadly that's not the case. As already suggested he took a good while to start performing well (perhaps down to be played in a holding role) - and hasn't really kicked a ball this season.

He needs to play in the role behind the striker if we're going to get the best out of him and with Rogic, Commons, Allan & Christie also vying it out for that position then I'd say it makes sense to take that offer - if it's real - rather than shoehorn players into positions they're not going to be as effective in. (eg. Johansen DM or Commons RM)

I would let him go. I would rather see Rogic continue to develop in the no10 role, he's a more exciting player.

Bitton, Brown, Armstrong and McGregor are all players I would play ahead of him in the bank of 2, also.

Potential signings to come too so I don't think we'd miss him at all

Agree to an extent, the frustrating part is Stefan has the physical attributes to go further in the game in my opinion (freakish stamina and reasonably quick to close down).

Rogic without doubt has better technical ability but I'm still not convinced he'll progress into a mainstay as he can at times look slow. Plenty promising signs though and would be delighted if he proved me wrong.

I would tell Aston Villa to GTF. 18 months left or not, figure is too low.

They're looking for someone to provide a spark to get them out of relegation. It will cost them more than that to poach our players.

Said in the transfer thread think he will be gone this window or next, £5M seems about right considering his dip in form. Not really bothered if we sell him or keep him, soon as Brown is back he's going to be out the team.

Stefan Johansen is a £5million target for Aston Villa, according to the Sun.
The Norwegian midfielder hasn’t had the best of seasons thus far. If it weren’t such an understatement, the same can be said of Villa.
They’re rock bottom of the EPL with just two wins to their name.
And, according to reports, they see the 25-year-old as a player who can increase their chances of survival.
Johansen has 18 months of his deal left – and has yet to sign an extension.
But Ronny Deila has a plethora of midfield talents and although the manager sees him as a key man, £5m could tempt the board to cash in.

If take the £5m. I can't see him regaining his form, especially with all the competition we have in the squad.

If the offer is legit then it's a big decision for Deila. If he refuses to sell then it will heavily count against him if Johansen doesn't regain form. If he does sell then the extra cash will give him a chance to bring in an extra player and potentially save his Celtic career.
