Never rated him this season - pretty much is the biggest one season wonder that I can think off.

I wouldn't hesitate taking a adequate fee for him in the next transfer window.

The player of the year curse strikes again. Izzy, never the same, mulgrew never the same... they should stop voting for our players

Another game, another stupid yellow card. Deila needs to be thinking about dropping him and giving a player like Allan an opportunity to prove his worth.

As much as I want to kick him up the * and send him to the barbers to get that poofy hair sorted out, he played well in the 2nd half yesterday. I want to see last seasons Johansen re-appear though, he gets far too many petulant bookings and wanders about playing the big hard man, frustrating * of a player because he does have the ability.

I'm between 2 thoughts on him: good player having an average season or average player who had a good season. Jury's still out.

He has ability, anyone who watched his first 18 months here can see that, the type of skill he was showing on the ball isn't a player without ability. Right now he's a guy whose confidence is beyond rock bottom. We need to pick him up, get him sorted. You can see how frustrated he is.

I'm not so sure. Even when he was playing well it was more through endeavour and running power than sheer ability on the ball. I said at the time he gave the ball away far too often & was too hit & miss in possession but he really set the tone for our displays with his energy. Now he still gives the ball away & is average in possession but doesn't have the same energy.

He does give the ball away a lot but that's a collateral consequence of attempting things that not a lot of others do.

When it works, as it did for the majority of last Season, he's quality. When it doesn't it looks as if he is poor at distribution.

Stefan Johansen is a quality player in poor form. I have zero doubts about that.

I think you've focused on his graft then, his quality on the ball, first touch, dribbling ability, passing are all top notch. That's his problem just now, still though, look at his pass for Ciftci yesterday, that's the kind of off the cuff * that you love to see.

Just look at his goal against St Johnstone (I think it was them) last year, that's the quality he has.

I agree, but how long can we put up with his rotten form? There has to come a point where enough is enough, and he gets dropped, and another player gets a fair crack of the whip. I think Johansen has had long enough this season to get his act together.

To me Bitton is good on the ball & if we're being honest Johansen is average next to him. There is something to be said for trying to be creative and taking risks that inevitably leads to giving the ball away more. Even factoring that in from last season I still thought he made too many basic errors in possession.

I remember disagreeing with someone on here back then that he was our best passer & I think that's been proved correct (he isn't). Goals can gloss over a lot of things & yes he did have some nice touches last season. He was playing more advanced & his confidence was sky high. Even then I just thought the quality was sometimes lacking. As I said; good player having an average season or average player who had a good season? Jury's still out for me.

I think we badly need a really good defensiive midfielder because Brown misses quite a lot of games through injury, and he isn't getting any younger, he probably only has another 18 months at the highest level and then his legs will be finished so I think it's only because we are so thin in that department that Johansen is still in the starting 11, because he has been absolutely pish all season. Had the odd good half or so but I can't think of a player who has underperformed for so long for Celtic.

I personally would have dropped him weeks ago and for longer than just a game or 2. The problem is balancing the effect on the team with the further effect on him as a player.

It's not as if he has been shocking all of the time, he has still had some decent games whilst never reaching anything like the heights of last Season.

He's a conundrum but over the peace, for me, he is 1 of very few ready made European level players that are in our squad.

He's really * me off. Total * this season so far yet he starts 9 times out of 10. All he does is give the ball away, chase players around and foul them and moan.

    He's becoming a dirty *, thinks he's Joey Barton.

Maybe I am missing something, and like an earlier post there is something behind the scenes .... but basically if a player is struggling a little you put the arm around him, encourage him and continue to give him games....well Ronny has done that, and there has not been enough of a turn around to keep trying.
So option 2, drop him and see if someone else can pick up the reigns, or Johansan sorts himself out from the bench...
    Simple....isn't it.....

Still like him, he still has all the traits that made him so good last year, but he is off the boil and showing some frustration.
Also we found out last season that his best role is as a secondary striker in the hole. He is a bit too reckless and ankle biting to be a cm enforcer.

Is he not carrying a long term injury as well?

Now that Europe is done, id rest the lad and let him properly recover/surgery. Get his training back on track and hopefully have him at his best in the second half of the season.
