I'd happily see Johansen dropped for Allan for a sustained period, to see if he is good enough.

Johansen needs a kick up the * and Allan can't possibly play any worse than him right now.

Johansen will come good again, he was like this last year at this time too.

However I agree he shouldn't be classed as untouchable, well, certainly not with more performances like tonight.

The difference is though, he was playing in a deeper role and the team was all over the place in general.

He's in his favourite position now and we have a settled team, there's no excuses.

This is it, you have Armstrong playing consistently well, causing teams problems and creating goals, while johansen gets picked no matter how badly he plays. Surely the point in having competition for places is that people can earn a place / be dropped to motivate improvement?

It's like stefan knows he's in the team so doesn't give a * about performance levels. Needs dropped for his own good, I think.

He's had a poor start to the season and was terrible tonight! The thing that I noticed most about tonight was how bad his movement was! Completely unable to find the pockets of space which that no 10 role is designed for! Empty shirt should have been hooked instead of Armstrong!

Thought he was to deep all match but not close enough to brown and bitton to help , anybody think we should play a 433 instead rotating between bitton sitting and johansen playing on the tip , the lack of flexibility in the current shape annoys me

Needs to be dropped, he is * awful at the moment. But he is Ronny's blue eyed boy and will never be dropped.

Not been impressed with his over-all play this season however maybe that's just comparatively to the very high standards he set last season. He has still chipped in with a few goals and assists.

Last night he was a passenger, didn't get near Griffiths in support often enough. So frustrating to watch him try Hollywood passes, one in particular sticks out in the 2nd half, with the outside of his boot which didn't beat the first man :31:

I wouldn't be against giving him a short spell out the team to to give him a metaphorical boot up the *. Allan/Commons are more than capable of filling that no.10 role in domestic football.

Maybe a few weeks dropped is what he needs. Would be happy for Allan or commons to be given a run in the centre attacking position, and see what they bring.

He's still young, I'm not his biggest fan, I think he flatters to deceive, if it wasn't for his workrate to be honest people would look at him a whole lot differently, as the rest for me is very limited.

For me, he is never that player to play in behind the striker, never in a million years.

He'll need to be developed (if he can) to play deeper, but be more controlled and better at breaking up play.

He hid last night, we had nobody trying to take responsibility through the middle until Commons came on.

Most overated player in a Celtic Jersey. Tries the hollywood pass all the time, problem is he cannot pass wind. Gives the ball away far to much.

Couldn't disagree more. Has shown in the past he is able to chip in with his fair share of goals and assists. His energy is also a positive to help the lone striker close down play. If anything needs to be worked on it's his technique & decision-making, too often guilty of giving away cheap possession.

Never in a million years is he a holding midfielder though. We were dreadful last season when he was pitched in beside Brown. Does not have the discipline to to protect the back 4.

Thank you. Thought it was just me who thought this way. He doesn't like to make the tough tackle but is good at the sly one. Such is the quality in the SPFL, he breezes through it but on the bigger stage against better opposition, he's ineffective.
