Not worried about him at all.

Without him we are far weaker as a side, much like Broony.

He's been awful so far this season. Sounds silly because he has a few goals and assists. But his all round play is lacking, big time.

    He's not a playmaker.

I remember a couple minutes before killies equaliser, the killie player was at hos own by line with no choice but to boot the ball out for a celtic throw, when for no reason at all and after the ball went johansen just barges right into him and throws him to the ground and killie got a fk.. i rememberthinking if killie get a goal here johansen should never wear the armband again because he'sjust gifted the ball straight back to them when we had the chance to keep the ball up the park and stifle the game.

Never a captainin a million years.hes lost the plot! And cannot play broonies position.

Some people are suggesting he shouldn't play against Malmo :56:

Who is he to be dropped for, Rogic? Very good...

Needs to get back playing further up the park. He is wasted in the centre of midfield.

    Commons.

Bitton and Brown are behind him.

He's not been pish this season, he's been pish for this season and the past 2 or 3 months last season too.

I love his energy, but sometimes that's all he brings.

Scott Brown kicked Neymar up the * in a Champions League game and is still club captain but a push against Kilmarnock is disgraceful and Johansen should never get the armband again? That's some logic there

Johansen has done more for Celtic in Europe in 1 year than Commons has done in 4.

Anyone that thinks Johansen has been pish for the end of last season and the start of this is clueless. His passing is erratic because he has a specific role within the team, Commons and Armstrong can be similar when they are asked to try and open up sides as well.

Apart from that there's not really anything you can lay at his door other than being frustrating because of it. People dismiss 'his energy' as if it's a given. His work rate, energy, determination, leadership are infectious and (similarly to Brown) he makes his team mates better.

We are a FAR better team with Johansen in it, he is European class.

Big call that, Commons performances in that last 16 run trump Johansens in the Europa last 32 last year I think.

Btw Johansen should start. As should Commons.

Commons doesn't have the type of game that transfers well to Europe. Hence the stark difference in his stats from domestic to European competition.

He has played well on occasion but Johansen has proven, in a quarter of the time, he is much better suited to Europe.

I don't think, against better opposition, his and Brown's style of play can be downplayed. They are making up for the difference in quality through sheer graft and endeavour.

Fully agree, he has all the qualities needed for Europe, his downfall is probably being overeager at times to win the ball back, not a problem when he is CAM but as showed last night at CM he was constantly chasing his tail for being out of position.

I agree with that but to say he's done more in Europe last year than Commons has in his full time here is wrong IMO.

Commons defensive performance and work against Barca was extremely crucial for one, ended up practicaly right back. Not to mention the Elfsborg and Karagandy performances to get us into the CL.

I don't think Johansen has matched that yet, his style and energy will be crucial though and he could go on to better it. He is 100% a starter at attacking midfield for me, there's no question of that.

I'm talking about their contributions so far. Stefan has some catching up to do. His biggest contribution last year was blocking Van Dijks header on the line! That was devastating.

Frustrating is the perfect way to describe him at the minute. Trying to be too intricate with his passing and when through on goal..

Ronny needs to realize that he's better in the hole as well .I don't care who's out in the middle, i'd rather see a youth player come in, than johansen be moved out of the position behind the striker..

Let's not forget Commons scored the penalty to put us through to the last 16 against Spartak.

Johansen flatters to deceive and can't play the DM role.
When the ball comes to him in front of goal, he either falls over or stands on the ball.:smiley-laughing002:
I can't wait for Scott Allan to arrive.

I believe that Johansen is on his way to being a total package CAM, still developing but skill, graft, effort, all top drawer - Commons is a little different, the defensive side of his game is weak, but he can and does make the Hollywood pass that changes the game. At home I would play both, away I would keep Commons until the last 20.

Keep Johansen for a couple of years, have him pick up more from Commons etal, keep him in CAM and on CM/CDM and he will be worth big bucks in 2 seasons time
