SPFL St Mirren 1 - 5 Celtic

Exact same lineup as the Cup Final last week. I can't remember the last time we went into back to back games with the exact same lineup in the Ange era, lol.

 

Good thing about this team is we can change it if need be

That's a * thing to make a home team do, tbf. It is beholden to the away team to have a choice of kit that doesnt clash, not the home team. I mean, surely whoever designs Celtic's kits shoud be taking into account who we are playing in the League etc when deciding on away strips. And really, even if it meant Celtic going out there in 11 yellow GK kits and Hart play in the silver/grey 3rd kit, then that should've been what happens, as that is official Celtic kit that has been signed off on, rather than making the home team change shirts.

It makes sense, considering how much of a clash there is that something has been done, but it doesn't change the fact its a * thing to make a home team do, tbh. We'd be * if we were playing at Paradise and Real Betis as the visitors were allowed to play in their home kit of green and white vertical stripes (or in the league, Hibs play in their home kit) and we were asked to play in our away kit.

Though personally would have taken Abada over Maeda and had Jota and Abada on the correct wings.

In MON's first season we had to play in our away kit in every game against Hibs, even at Parkhead as all their kits were green and white

 

Considering in the last 2 visits away to St Mirren (obv both since Ange took over) we have not even scored a goal, so while I hope we do score a few, would be just as content with any win tbh. There is a reason why St Mirren have only lost twice on their own patch this season.

Check the line up for the goalless draw. A front 3 of Moffat, Abada and Johnston. Bitton playing as DM, Welsh at CB and Scales as LB. Bain was also in goal.

 

Actually insane how much our squad has improved in a little over a year.

 

TBH, I don't remember that, apart from the Cup Final when we wore the yellow away kit, but will take your word for it. Still, it's a * thing to do. And Celtic as by far the richest club in the lans surely could afford someone who would actually bother to check and see if silver and grey, or any kit for that matter, might possibly clash with black and white though, you know? The whole point of having a 3rd kit is the 'just in case', not a... 'oh, we forgot one of the teams in the league wear black and white'... when there is literally only 11 other teams in the division.

 

It was literally just like 3 days after we won the League Cup Final v Hibs, so there could've been a little bit of hangover from that at the time, but more importantly both teams were pretty decimated with Covid. So while we underperformed on the night, those St M players that stepped up did better than a lot of the guys that ee asked/had available to step up on that occasion.
