He's been pretty average or below average in the majority of our games this season.

Then he pops up and scores a goal or two out of nothing and you feel like you can't really complain (which I guess you can't if he's scoring). I still don't think he's the creative mastermind that many on here do though.

 

I like the big man, but I think his time is up. We need to freshen up the squad. Either that, he needs to be content as a sub

Exactly.

He's a decent player. Nothing special.

 

I don't think anyone is proclaiming him to be Messi or a player of similar ilk. But he is the main reason we are scoring goals. No one else seems to be up to creating that bit of space or the killer pass - well no one that plays regularly. That's why a on form Commons stands out. And that's why a below average Commons stands out - we notice it more.
