Nah not for me mate hes been back for about a month now he should be fit. If he wasnt fit then the only way he can get fit is by playing games, if i was Stokes id be raging.

Would he not be dropped all together then if he was not in the right frame of mind ?

Gutted for Stokesy hopefully it's not that he has just been dropped and there is something to it perhaps carrying a knock??

Maybe he's said he wants to be given a game even though.

Stokes was out for 6 months, had 90 minutes 3 days ago and a friend passed away in the last few days. It's no surprise he starts on the bench.

Was hoping that a few of our younger players would have played tonight.

Never knew his pal died at the weekend maybe thats why but surely he wouldnt be in the squad altogether if that was the reason?

Stokes has been laid off for 5 months, do you expect him to play 2 games in 4 days?

I think sitting on the bench would just give him more time to think about his mate.

I think if it is because of his mate, then he should be dropped from the squad tonight and not on the bench, you are either in the right frame of mind or not.

Hopefully is it just because of match fitness.

You don't get days off work for mates dien unfortunately for stokes he works for Celtic and if he was picked then I would expect nothing but his best tbh and I think he would give his best as he's that type of character IMO obv

Disappointed to see Stokesy on the bench, but considering the context I suppose it's not surprising :50:

Otherwise it's a decent team, bit one-dimensional going forward I suspect, but should be enough to get a comfortable win.

As well - a poster a page or two back mentioned McGeouch. He played fantastic against Inverness and is then not seen since then. It hardly does a good thing for his confidence. He needs to get game time if he is going to be the player he could be

Celtic manager Neil Lennon tells BBC Radio Scotland:

"They've got good forward players. They play in an old-fashioned way, no nonsense and they keep coming forward. It will be a tough game for us tonight. The pitch doesn't look too clever.

"Stokesy (Anthony Stokes) has had a personal bereavement this week. He will maybe feature in the game at some stage. It's quite an emotional time for him.

"St Johnstone put in a decent performance at Hibs. They have put out a powerful team so we will need to match them physically. You want to keep winning games.

"We want to keep it going until the end of the season. We have so much to play for. We have a young, vibrant team and it doesn't get much better than this. I love working with them day in, day out."

I love Paddy but I completely agree. Its time to get the young bhoys making a proper breakthrough into the team
