I have first hand knowledge of it. Doesn't matter what the snp do my mrs would vote for them regardless based solely on the fact she wants independence. I suspect there are many like that.

I don't think they had much choice in the end. Why did they not just fall back on the prelim results to start with? it was the obvious solution.

Probably because prelims aren’t standardised across the board. Some schools use harder prelims than others, some make their own, some use past papers.

That’s a sad indictment of what this shower of useless * are getting away with tbh, I’ve said before we have a first minister who can’t even sort out her own constituency ffs!

True but in the circumstances I think they would have been forgiven for going with it. Whole thing ended up an unnecessary farce. Ah well, as you say it's up to those that have maybe lucked out to make the most of it going forward.

And yet according to a you Gov poll her approval rating is 60%.
Handling the virus crisis is 72%

As the other poster alluded to there are people blinded by Independence rather than the SNP’s record in government.

But the poll for the handling the crisis was 72%
Nothing to being blinded by independence, that poll has hardly moved from the 50% mark and has been around the same figure well before the start of the virus.
So she's still getting approval from 72% of the population irrespective of any independence voters.

You keep harping on about the 72% gaged in the crisis poll, If she’s handling it that well then why are we having a public inquiry into her government’s actions during it? You can pull all the polls you want, her action over the Nike conference and care homes scandal says more for me.

Basing results off prelim results is nonsense as well. How many kids take the prelims that seriously? I know I didn’t.

And the idea that the appeals would have actually changed much is naive, I think. They rarely have before, and with the number of kids who would have been appealing this year, I doubt they’d have changed much this time either.

Aye it may be * but if that's the only exam taking, and they have no other choice to take another then what gives them right to downgrade anyone because of area? That's the travesty.

Theres people with 5 straight As in prelims being downed to Bs and Cs and loosing places to medical uni with a vague promise aye you can appeal. Appeals that have done fuckall for the eternity of time. I'm glad protests happened, I'm glad those change petitions got signed. I'm impressed the young stood up and said no.

    Think you’ve misread my point.

The original grades that were dished out were a load of * and a disgrace. The way they’ve corrected it is the best solution.

I’m saying that some people are calling for the grades to be their prelim results and then appeal from there. Which would be *.

Going with the teacher’s predictions, while not exactly realistic for many, is the best bet.

Think one of the reasons I keep on harping on about the 72% is because in your opinion, they're a shower of useless * and clearly that's not the case... In my opinion and the opinion of many others.

Did you read the full post before responding? If they have handled it that well then why the need for a public inquiry? Sturgeon was also told by the office of national statistics to stop saying England had 5 times the deaths of Scotland, like it or not she has used the Covid crisis to try and leverage for Independence. That might have worked had her own record not been just as bad as Boris.

I'm certainly not Sturgeons biggest fan but overall she does deserve praise, while we have made some mistakes, the record is better than some want to admit and that's the problem. This is for a variety of reasons - unionists, brexit supporting * etc, christ some simply don't like the fact Sturgeon is a woman :giggle1:

Just about every country on the planet will hold some sort of enquiry into the handling of the epidemic , not to appoint blame to anyone or to anything but to learn from mistakes.
Not one country got the handling of this pandemic 100% correct.

You are surmising here, she has been caught out time after time lying during the Covid crisis. Yet people still think she has done some miraculous job, doesn’t that prove my point that certain people can’t see past the Independence side of things? You also know certain polls are done in ways to skew the results right?

I don't think a YouGov poll will be askewed to favour anyone. But anyway, let's just agree to disagree.
