We're at a stage now where we have multi-millions in the bank.

Apparently on TalkSport today, they were talking about "they are led to believe" Sinclair and Dembele are on £38k and £35k respectively. Two quality, EPL players, one proven, the other I believe could eventually be banging goals down there.

We're well and truly moving away from the Scottish football "brand" all together.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a draft in the next couple of years with us in England.

I would dare say youd be knocking 10k off sinclair and 15k off dembele wages there.

Cant believe we would have went in for two at that value so quickly.

Do believe we can afford it, and clearly they bring that level to the club and the fans back it. Think 4 players on that sort of wage (30-35) is ideal. Another 4-5 on the 20k mark is enough to attract a starting 11 sort of player to make an impact in the only league we should be comparing ourselves, the champions league.

 

No chance Sinclair and Dembele will be on that much. Almost £4million between them when the wagebill for the entire clubs staff from top to bottom is usually only around £33million. 12% going to 2 guys? doubt it

 

Our highest earner will be on 30 grand..

Dembele won't be on that..

It's actually being used as a stick and going up and up to suit other's failings..

 

Big Kolo will be on a big wage, he'll be up there with the highest earners.

 

Will Dembele even be on that much though, bear in mind he signed his last Fulham contract before he'd even broke though, probably wasn't even on £5k per week with them. He might only be on about £15k a week here.

 

You wonder how much he had to be enticed though, Joe Ledley seemed to be more wanted when we got him. He was linked for EPL teams for a while, Stoke even made an actual bid to sign him when he was under contract and even Roma too I think he actually went to Rome to have discussions with them?

Dembele seemed more of an unknown quantity, he has been great for us but when we signed him we didn't really know what we were getting I dont think. I don't think we knew we were getting one of the best young players in Europe.

His options might only have been us or Fulham on not that great a money or £30k or so as a back-up/squad player at EPL teams.

 

Agree, Sinclair was probably on £40k a week at Villa but you imagine EPL teams have it in contracts that if they get relegated their wages drop by 50% or something similar.

Sinclair could have been in the position of staying at Villa in the Championship on £20k a week or moving up here or to another Championship team on similar wages as honestly no other EPL teams would have bought him in the summer after a poor season at Villa.

 

True, I dont think we'd pay guys above £30k per week though and thats even if we are buying guys we know are quality for sure like a Sinclair, Dembele i'd imagine would have been seen as a more unknown quantity who could be good or might not fit in. Couldnt imagine him getting close to £30k a week.

Same with Kolo Toure, i've seen on here people claiming he is on £30k and £35k a week and I don't think he'll be on half of that. We'd just never pay that for a guy who was never going to play every week.

 

The average wage in the EPL is £46k, I think TS are talking *.

 

I'd be very surpised if Sincair wasn't on something around 30k a week

 

I'd imagine Sinclair will be on close to what Brown earns, about 25k a week.

Big Dembele will be on about 20k. He was a highly sought after player but we wouldn't break our wage structure for him.

I always get a right good laugh with people's estimates on players wages. Even guys who are knowledgeable about the actual game of football itself grossly overestimate what players earn.

They just assume all Celtic players earn 25k and all EPL players make at least 50k a week. Hilarious. Guys like Wanyama, Ki, van Dijk, Kayal etc. would have been on absolute peanuts during their time here despite their ability.

 

Wouldn't surprise me. The station is dross.

 

Completely understand it.

Our wage structure wouldn't be broken in my eyes, more something to be run across everyone to be honest.

I think whats more important is we're setting our sights beyond SPL glory, about time too.
