I reckon this might be the one we see getting completed right at the death if anything.

I'd be happy, potential to be a superstar this guy.

I thought it was us that only wanted a loan to see how he done because man city jst wanted him gone because they have the money to bring more or less anyone the only thing stopping them is that they dont have the attraction of european football, the level kaka wantedthey wont offer for a few years yet and there fans have got so big headed since the new guys came most of the players they have they would have dreamt of a few seasons bck

SUFC sold beattie so they will be in for another striker.

They were looking at Chris Porter though.

GORDON STRACHAN today described Scottish football as a dead market in this transfer window as fears over future economic storms grip the game.
But the Celtic boss also believes most managers are playing a game of poker, with bluffs set to be called in the final few days before the window closes.
Speaking at Lennoxtown this afternoon ahead of tomorrow's Co-operative Insurance League Cup semi-final against a Dundee United side which will include one of the men Celtic still hope to bring in, Willo Flood, Strachan said: "It's a dead market in Scotland, really.
    advertisement

"I think everyone is scared of what is going to happen next year. Economics are saying that no-one is taking a chance anywhere."
This has led to frustration on the part of Strachan who has continued work quietly behind the scenes to add to new additions Nial McGinn, Milan Misun and Michael Lang.
The Hoops boss revealed that a decision has been made on Chivas USA trialist Sacha Kljestan, who carries a price tag of around £2.5million.
But Strachan explained they are not ready to go public on whether or not they will recruit the Amnercian midfielder.
He said: "There have been developments, but we would have to get to other people first."
Strachan believes the games of bluff and counter bluff in transfer dealings are about to come to a head, and he said: "Sometimes clubs can hang on and say they want this, then suddenly you sit looking at the finances of the club and you say, Right, we can do a deal now.' "We are all playing poker at the moment to see who is bluffing and who is not. But there is nothing too exciting out there, to be honest with you."
Strachan also gave an update on possible outgoings from the club, amidst reports Newcastle had enquired about buying skipper Stephen McManus.
He said: "I have only one enquiry. When I asked about a player, there was an enquiry about someone at our place to swap on loan for six months.
"That's not going to happen. But there are no bids."
When asked if McManus - who is an injury doubt for tomorrow night - could be for sale, he quickly replied: "No', before qualifying that with, "but if Kaka is for sale, then Mick is for sale, trust me.
"We all say no one is for sale. But if AC Milan are willing to sell Kaka then anybody is for sale. Let's get that right. So I think it's a question that should be redundant now.
"But it's still asked, and we still give the answer. No, he is not for sale', knowing full well that if someone offered £30m, we would say, There's the door there.' "At the moment, however, there is nothing put to me that would make me think about selling any of our players."

Why would it show no ambition...perhaps he would want a better standard of game each week...and the chance to get into the epl again with one of those teams. The SPL is poor.

    cl football....yeah ok...but its a brief spell.

If the lad has any Ambiton * sign for Cardif he get first team footy , and play in a better league with the chance of making the prem again , or Proving his worth in the championship ,and getting a move to the prem with a bigger club .

Never thought I'd hear that when talking about a player who has to choose between the Glorious Cardiff or lowly Celtic.

It is a big decision...come here and possibly not play or be almost guaranteed a game in a league which is about on par with the spl...perhas better

That's a pile of nonsense, if he has ambition he comes to Celtic and he makes sure he's in the first team and taking us to the Champions League where he can then strut his stuff on the biggest stage there is.

Im sorry, but I think if a player chooses cardiff or sheff united over celtic, then there is a lack of ambition. I understand champions league can be a short spell, but if you say it could get him a move to an EPL team, surely playing against the best teams in Europe is a greater stage to prove your worth? Plus although the SPL is prob on par with the Championship, joining Celtic and getting in the first team shows plenty ambition from a 20year old, and I reckon he could be a great signing, based on what I have already seen and read about him.

I think more players are likely to move from the championship to the epl than from scotland to the epl. He is welsh and could choose them if he thinks they could build a team good enough to challenge for an epl place.

For me it would be celtic all the way...just keeping an open mind on what he might think though

perhaps he did, yes. Many other players at celtic and rangers get lost though when it would have helped them to go to a smaller championship team.

O'Dea isnt getting his chance at celtic and may move to burnley for example.

I`m sorry but how is the spl so poor ? what makes it so poor ? Ok we dont have the big names as opposition and its a 2 horse race but hold on every league is a maximum of 4 horse race but most times 2 including the epl and they have millions to throw around . Its all relative our game gets slagged off all the time and like every league we have poor games but ion the main its more competitive than ever . If a player chooses to come to celtic ANY player then the motivation is playing in europe every year , being treated like a * if he does well in the team , getting to play in front of 60,000 every home game and challenging for trophies amongst others . Theres plenty of good players in leagues like the epl playing for clubs with more money than us but will never have any chance of winning a medal and if you listen to players speaking they say winning things trumps everything . So yes signing for cardiff over us shows a lack of ambition because how can you say signing for a club like that in the hope that you get signed by an epl club over signing for a club that wins trophies ?

OT: thing about spl reformament is its easy to see how to fix it long term, but very hard to see how to fix it short term.

And i think it was the wales manager that said evans had the hardest shot he had ever seen, that's always handy to have someone who can smash it like BBJ could.

It's what i think is the best move for the lad and i think its the one * take , Dont mean i think Cardif are bigger than us cause they aint but , i honestly think going to play for them and with the chance of getting to the prem is worth more than playing a few games a season in europe here.
