[Spoiler Alert] Sopranos

Discussion in 'TC Media' started by Craiglang, Jan 27, 2016.

  1. Yeah the Gyp Rosetti season is one of the all time great seasons of any TV show for me. The Charlie */IRA subplot is excellent aswell.

  2. I stopped boardwalk after episode 5 again, will get back to it.
Bit of a slow burner at first I'm finding.
Didn't help that I was fresh off the back of the sopranos, ended up starting on The Rookie to give a change of pace/genre and loving this. Almost done with it and will give BE another bash for sure.

  3. I was the same donkeys years ago gave up in Season 1. Persist with it ,it goes to a whole other level there are some really really good characters introduced in and after season 2.

  5. Funnily enough I watched it for a fourth time myself a few months back. I actually wrote an article on Medium about how it’s the most rewatchable show of all time, and tried to pick 4 of the most rewatchable episodes, which was extremely difficult of course because there’s so many belters :56:

Here it is if anyone has an interest: https://fanfare.pub/four-watches-an...24e4b31c8?sk=9c082fd36f3a342f2a2c0559e098a2fc

  6. Read it mate :50: Hard to argue with the four you chose . Van Morrison/Tony taking out his cousin is top tier TV.

  7. Keep at it, BE is definitely up there with Sopranos and the brilliant The Wire.

  9. Yeah, id say they're my top 3.

There's 24 hour channels on my IPTV and if there's nothing on or working from home at lunch I'll end up just sticking either of them on.

  11. Good article mate. Like you I’ve watched most episodes several times and agree with a lot of your choices.
There’s a few * ones in there as well though- ones that I regularly skip.
In Camelot was the worst episode by a mile imo. Luxury Lounge and Chasing It in series 6 were poor as well.
Any other below par episodes anybody can think of?

  12. That was a great read mate. I'm up to 8 (I think) times watching it and I make no apologies for that.

I could talk about it all night but I don't think I could construct a blog like you did.

Agree with everything you say about the episodes you chose to critique

  13. Have never managed to watch this past season 3 any time I've started.

Began watching from episode 1 again last night.

Still kinda amazes me the actual size of Paulie Walnut's hands - * has fingers like hard ons!

  14. Try and stick with it this time mate. Season 3/4 onwards is absolute * tier TV.

  15. It’s one of my favourites of all time and I could watch it endlessly, and still watch random scenes and read the comments regularly.I was hooked from first episode as I love that genre but if it’s not for you after three seasons maybe it never will be mate.

Folk raved about that film ‘There Will be Blood’ and it won awards and is so highly rated, but I hated for as long as I watched and after a few times just gave up.

Mrs got us tickets for the Talking Sopranos tour, Steve Schirripa and Michael Imperioli.:85:

  16. Sack it, it's * *.

  17. I think I’ve got to season 3 twice with Boardwalk Empire then chucked it. It was okay but never gripped me.

Really want to stick with it and finish it because the reviews are great.

  18. I'm finishing the last episode of season 2 and certainly think this is the furthest I've gotten.
Started to get hooked in to it now and invested in a few of the characters.
But certainly feel like I'm making the effort rather than the itself totally winning me over.

  19. I’m about 99% sure you’re just trolling, but I do assume anyone who watches the first two seasons and claims they don’t enjoy it must have some form of learning difficulty.
