:50:.. I agree with you mate. However for £25k a week i'd take him for a couple of seasons, he gives alot off the pitch aswell as on so would be worth that.

The things is, it seems to me that possibley were not looking hard enough for certain types of players, e.g lennon stated he wanted fighters, he wanted leaders etc... but for that he only seems to be looking in England i.e James, Bullard and Campbell.

Now in Campbell's case IF he was in his mid to late 20's then yeah 35k fine, but because of his age no way, i know i will get shot for this but i even feel that 65kish for keano is far to much for celtic to manage for any longer then 1 whole season and would rather us look else were if it were the case, e.g larsson cost us next to nothing, skippy like wise, viduka again not that much and before they signed what experience did they have Larsson was a bench warmer and failing at PSV? Skippy doing well for Well and Viduka, well i don't remember his history, although Viduka caused issues it still shows that atleast with the goal scorer issue if we look else were we can still get a great goal scorer without having to pay out 60 odd G's to a big name which unles we had some oil barren owner celtic can't maintain, (come please look at the debt of MANU for example something silly like over 500mill, yet RANGERS of the SPL reigning Champions and in the CL are on the verge of meltdown because of 30 odd mill debt, and i know were not rangers but that shows the difference in money here and elsewere).

Back on to Campbell though i think it's the same here all we have to do is look elsewere and we can still get a good CB with fair experience some one like Ramis and not have to pay out such high wages, although i don't know much about Ramis other then his team done fairly well against the odds in spain, there is another Prime Balde laying in wait some were or there is even another Johan Mjallby laying in wait, so i say screw Campbell and use celtic's worldwide connections which is something we have over alot of teams in europe unless your of course the bigger teams.

Veteran defender Sol Campbell has ended speculation over his future by deciding to stay with Arsenal for another year, despite major interest from Celtic. so says the sun

Let him go to Arsenal and get about 30 minutes of playing time. Just hope he doesn't think he can try to come here come January or next summer after doing * all in London.

This is a huge loss, 35k a week or not, he would have been an invaluable addition

ehhhhh only reason he is staying with arsenal is to sit on the bench and make more money...... he probably wouldnt have had the right attitude for this club.

deal is dead, probably best if we just locked this thread.

Two too many probably's in your post mate. Unless you are Sol Campbell you don't know what his attitude is or if the deal is dead or not....Let's leave the thread open until this deal is officially dead.

Bit of a right faff on for the end of his career then.

A daft spell at Notts, then all this indecision, speaking to everyone then plumping to stay where he is :/

    Pointless

I always thought he might stay at Arsenal. Lets face it, I don't think he cares where he plays, because he's only interested in the money. It's obvious. He would have had no passion at all playing for us. Why would a player join a League 2 side that are lucky if they get promoted to League 1 unless he gets a huge weekly wage?

I didn't really want Campbell, I think there are better defenders out there than him.

To be fair, he said he would make his decision after his wedding. Also said arsenal was his first choice.

Does it really matter now?? We have Rogne fit,Hooiveld fit and Misun fit! And to add to that, Lenny said he want another CB.
