I think this will happen and if/when it does i wouldnt hesistate in giving him the captains armband i think it'll be concluded when lenny gets back from holiday. He's just the kind of CB we need bags of experience and that will be good for the whole team especially rogne and thompson. I reckon he and hooiveld will link up great.

Sol Campbell has told Soccernet he is currently deciding between a one-year contract extension at Arsenal and a two-year deal at Celtic.

I don't know yet where I will be playing my football next season. What I do know for certain is that I will be getting married this summer, then I am off on honeymoon, but I will be back on July 27 ready for pre-season training."I might still stay at Arsenal, but will need to talk with Arsene Wenger after the World Cup finals, and I have had an offer from Celtic, which I am giving serious consideration to.
"Other clubs have also been in touch after the level of my performances for Arsenal last season."

Hope he don't want to wait to after the World Cup before making a decision....

i think sol campbell is using us as a bargaining chip to get a better deal for himself to stay in the epl. l dont think he is gona sign and to be honest we shouldnt be bending over for him letting him play when and where he wants . the champions league qualifier is one of the biggest games of our season and he should be told either he signs now or he can * off. celtic are bigger than 1 player and shouldnt be pandering to someone who if we are honest we would conceed is a long shot to sign and what kind of message does that send out to the other players at our club. yes he would be a good signing but why do we want to sign him . we would be signing him to help us in europe and to win us the league bk but as it stands we could be out of europe before he comes back from honeymoon and then neil lennons honeymoon will be over too.

well those quotes do not look promising now tbh, his previous ones were but i think that if arsenal offer him a two year then hes at arsenal if they don't budge on their standing he will be a celt it looks, also looks like we will have to wait till mid July before we find out who he will be playing for next season.

I wish the decision would be made alot sooner and im sure it will be. I doubt Lennon will wait til mid july without knowing. Id love to see him here and I think he would be an outstanding signing. I understand hes showing arsenal respect but he should shows us the same respect. Hes not making the move for money, its not greed, so the arsenal fans will know that. It looks like its Lenny thats bending over backwards to sign him to show him that he really wants him, so why not just jump at the chance to become part of something massive at Celtic.....IMO

i think having to wait to mid july is unacceptable. i dont think its in our best interests to wait till then. if he does sign then his fitness will be 2 to 3 weeks behind the rest of the team and if he doesnt sign then we will have to go out and find another centre half it does concern me as it seems we are putting all our eggs in one basket . yes he is getting married but doesnt he know being married is over rated come speak to me il put u rite been their done that. come on sol put the wedding on hold sign ur 2 year deal win us the league for 2 years and then u can get married and go on a permitate honeymoon . lol

Dont understand why every deal is going quiet, normally when a new manager in installed the following week is a blur of activity, in our case it's the complete opposite! As much as I want this deal to happen, if I were manager I would tell him to * off if he doesn't decide by next week, had plenty of time to think about it, if I was 35 and a massive team like Celtic were offering me a chance to be part of a potential title win and Scottish cup win and CL football, even getting time off for his honeymoon and the chance to play infront of 45 thousand passionate fans on a regular basis I wouldn't need "Thinking time" to be honest. Not even like he has to consider his family moving across the world to another country. Gets on my nerves when footballers * about like this, just sign you money grabbing *! :icon_mrgreen: I like him really, honest!

anyone else think campbell wont do well up in scotland. look wat happened when he went too notts county, i hope we dont sign him. give rogne and hoovield a chance, josh diddn't do badly last season and then o'dea is there. i be happy with 4 and spend money on lb and 2 decent midfielders and good striker. we can cope without campbell. a good hard man midfielder and goal scoring midfielder is badly needed.
